Nope i remember looking at the odds before the tournament started and Kessler was the favorite followed by Ward.

I would have thought Froch or Abraham would be higher but they werent. Not to mention this tournament was set up for him to win it with all his fights at home and getting an automatic W when Dirrell dropped out.

all of his fights but the final will have been in his hometown.

    - Agreed - Ward is very very skilled
    - Hopkins raves about him, and he's a connoisseur of boxing.

I have watched many of his fights. Even on Show box coming up and every one of his fights I am waiting for him to show that extra umpphhh that shows greatness and he fails to impress me every time. He is good at winning but dont confuse that with greatness.

Ward is a very dirty fighter.
Holds constantly, holds and hits, uses the elbows and headbutts. But what I really dont like with Wards dirty fighting is his fans who pretend he doesnt do such things.
Ive even seen Ward hitting after the bell is dangerous and can cause serious injury to an unprotected fighter, but Ward seems to get away with dirty fighting.

Hopefully there will be a fair ref who wont allow Ward to cheat.

A good read was J Baggs article in The Ring magazine telling the S6 details how Ward has had the advantages of fighting at home

Its all smart boxing!!! Ha that's what they tell themselves.

I think if he tries to get rough with Froch he is going to get slammed ala Dirrell. Froch is a tough customer and I doubt he is gonna let a Yank rough him up!!!

    War Froch!!!!

If Ward continues to win and goes on a long SMW run he will definitely be remembered theres already plenty who like him and then there are those like you who hate him, its amusing how he can have one fight where there are headbutts and all of a sudden he's a dirty fighter...

Continue to spew your disdain for Ward but im sure he could care less, he's really not even a boring fighter, he doesn't knock people out regularly but froch hasn't knocked anyone out in his last four fights either but the same people claim he's so exciting, guess he's feather-fisted too...

Ward vs Abraham was just as entertaining as froch vs Abraham, Ward vs Kessler was just as entertaining as Froch vs Kessler only Froch got his ass whooped in a close fight where both took damage, hell Ward vs Green was just as painful to watch as Froch vs Dirrell, so who's actually boring, neither in my book...

Ward will continue to get better and ko's will come and if he goes on to beat Bute and Martinez and even Hopkins there will still be haters like some of you, its just the way it is...

And P.S. I would much rather win the way a Ward, Mayweather and Hopkins win with as little damage as possible than to win while slowly being blugeoned to death for the sake of fans saying you're a warrior but after your career the same people and more feeling sorry for you saying you took to much punishment similar to Ali, Frazier, SRR, Riddick Bowe, Holyfield, James Toney and a host of others who all suffered or are noticebly suffering from some type of brain damage...

I like Gamboa's potential and maybe Jose Benavidez to become HOF's.

And of course Mike Jones

There is a difference between using angles and turning your opponent and running and clinching. Angles and movement, when executed properly, can be very exciting. Plenty of HOF'ers have used that strategy.

Wanting to be fighter of the year speaks to being willing to take on the best in the world. Taking on the biggest challenges available and winning through boxing (not running or brawling) is just fine by me.

That's not true. You should see the threads from back then when asking who they thought would win the Tourney

    Wards beaten:

    1. Kessler
    2. Abraham

I think he'll beat Froch and Bute

That would look like a strong resume in a year.

Froch isnt the sort of fighter to let himself be bullied, but I do remember when Kessler fought Ward, Kessler got warned for head use, when Ward fought Bika, Ward looked at the ref when he was being ruffed up and Bika gets warned.
Froch has had alot of close fights, but seems to win. I know Froch lost to Kessler but that was an away fight where Froch had travel probs, things Ward has never encountered in a big fight. But when you look at how Froch and Ward both performed against Abraham, Froch looked the better of the two

He reminds me of Winky when Winky was dominant. Great boxer but boring as hell to watch and never caught on with the general boxing public. Ward can go on to be 40-0 and he still wont be a ppv attraction.
