Ha, I think I had a generally more positive impression of Ward than you did, but that's a damn fine analysis.

By the way, I think Ward showed both better defense and stamina than Taylor tonight against a guy with similar (that's right) boxing ability to Froch. For Froch/Ward I would predict a 117-111 type UD for Ward.

Wow, that's very disrespectful to Froch. I've not seen any boxer in the history of boxing who telegraphed his punches as competently as Miranda. It was so flagrant that it ought to warrant investigation. Froch is NOT that bad. He did have better defense than Taylor and we know for certain that Ward knows how to hold (which Taylor does not) but as Taylor did with Lacy he'd be able to sustain himself for 12 rounds if ever faced with the task of facing Ward.

I think Taylor beats Ward if they ever square off and Taylor beats Froch if they square off a second time.

Froch would be too much for Ward simply because of the power and size differential. If you can't punch hard enough for Froch to respect you, then you already have problems because he can just walk through everything and land the more significant punches. I mean the kid looked good, but i wouldn't like his chances against Froch. In fact you could even make a case for Pascal beating Ward. I'll be looking out for Ward though, he looked good.

You beat me to the punch. When all else fails Froch will just come out swinging, and unlike Miranda he can fight all 12 rounds and never loses heart. Ward will have to step it up a notch if he wants to beat Froch.

Taylor would beat Ward. Foch is not Miranda, not at all. Abraham knocked Miranda out and so did Pavlik. Ward did not even come close, plus he held, should have had a point taken away. He did not need to hold so much.

I don't know why you guys act like Ward is a small 168. He fought at 178 when he won his Olympic Gold. He's 6'1" and was able to bully Miranda around. I'm not saying he'd do the same thing to Froch, but I don't see how he'd be at his mercy. Like Taylor, he has a massive speed and skill advantage over the Briton. Unlike him, he has not shown stamina issues and has defensive ability.

Also unlike Taylor, Ward probably doesn't have the power to get Froch's respect.

Again, Froch is not Miranda. Taylor is not Miranda.

I think this guys game is to good for Froch and thats coming from a big Froch fan. I think the telling factors for me were 1) He should that he can take a serious punch - so with his defensive abilities and good stamina I don't see Froch knocking him out and 2) seeing this guy opperate on the inside. Now I know you guys are going to hate me for saying this but Froch also needs range to set up his punches. He's a master of keeping range as well but if you can get inside on him then he can't so much to you...well other then hold and hit the **** out of you...but that sure beats the right hand bomb down the pipe.

The difference and the one we just saw is that Froch won a Bronze at the worlds and knows how to intelligently stalk. So I can see him being in the fight. But at the end of the day Wards boxing ability and pitty pat shots winning him a Jermain Taylor type "****! I'm pissed this guy just won" decision.

PS i dont know what you guys mean by he's too small for Froch because Froch isn't a giant in the division like Andrade or Kessler. I mean he walks around at 172 or something...whihc I'll bet is less then most top guys in the division.

Will froch take the fight? We know ward wants it. You people act like theres a size difference. Ward is the bigger guy in there, not the stronger guy, but the bigger guy physically. he has every boxing advantage. froch has the power advantage, but with wards defense and frochs slow hands it wont be a problem.
