It is possible we see a Froch/Bute fight next and thats ok. I am not sure how a ward/froch fight plays out. Honestly with showtime being an american company who will be paying for the fight and Ward being there next hyped star it could very well be made in the states and not the UK.
i think your right if the big fights cant be made, froch will accomadate ward if ward has the balls to come to nottingham:good
He got very fortunate against Taylor who was easily outboxing him that taylor has stamina issues. Ward does not have any stamina issues and is a better boxer then Taylor. If you are a big Froch fan get prepared to wallow in defeat if the fight is made
all i say is bring it on....froch is willing and waiting to fight the best if you think ward is one of the best lets get it on...:bbb
He was NOT outboxing Froch, after round 5 Froch was actually OUTBOXING Taylor, on my cards I had it a 1 point win for Froch. I am sorry but after round 5 arguably Froch won all rounds until the KTFO.
Well your card was wrong, cant say it more clearly. The fight was at worst 7-5 and at best 8-4 for JT. JT also had the knockdown. Its mute point as Froch did what he needed and KTFO taylor who fades late. Ward will not fade and will even win more rounds and clearer.
Your opinion and I respect it right, hopefully you do mine. Did not one of the judges have it for froch, anyway like you said Froch did what he had to do. As far as ward, you could be right.:good
Hate going over old ground but Taylor was beaten by Froch end of.While two judges had Taylor in front ONE DIDNT! and most of the media at ringside had it far closer with Taylor 1 point in front or 1 point behind. Is someone now going to tell me judges dont make mistakes ? Taylor was struggling after the 5th,if he won anything after the 5th it was with the flurries he threw in the last 15 seconds of some rounds. Ward impressed me last night and before the fight i picked Ward to stop Miranda in the 8th.But Ward isn't in the same league as Froch/Bute/Kessler,they would have finished Miranda in 6 rounds and whilst Ward was beating Miranda easily,he was still unable to deliver the coup de grace.
I really never undestand this logic. Post after post of people who think you have to knock someone out to be "in the league:" of other people. Maybe I dont look at boxing like most of you and think which guy can knock the other guys head off? I think more about defense and angles, guys who consistently beat their opponents by wide scorecards. It reminds me of Floyd Mayweather, this guy isnt a knockout puncher. But he doesnt drop a lot of rounds because he has solid boxing skills and very good defense. So I prize boxing skills over power. It seems I am nearly alone in my viewpoint, but I think history will bear me out that in the long run the pure boxers are regarded higher than the brusiers.
Dunno we'll see. Showtime just might throw a pile of money at Froch for it. Ward is highly promotable. He is a gold medal winner, brings in a pretty good crowd. Its entirely possible that Showtime looks at ward as a cash cow in the making. I think they may be right.
I completely agree with you with regard to prowess over power, but if a guy is there to be taken why risk trying to outbox him ? Miranda can punch and Ward was aware of this, instead of holding why didn't he finish Miranda ? Bute v Ward would be a chess match and a boxing exhibition, but Froch and Kessler would be looking to take Wards head off and i just dont see silky skills and movement keeping either at bay for 12 rounds.
Thats why we are here to post and debate such issues. I disagree and think ward definitely has the "silky skills" (I like that) to keep froch at bay for 12 rounds. Kessler on the other hand isnt such a pressure fighter. he likes his space so I think this would make ward very comfortable. Honestly, I dont see any problems for ward with froch at all. Froch is wide open, really poor defesively IMO. Worse then Miranda even. JT lacks movement and ward has excellent movement. This is the major difference between them..well and Ward doesnt have stamina issues. I see Froch pushing in and eating shots and counters then getting turned and rinse repeat. Really it will be the angles and the turns that give froch a fit. I just hope this fight comes off next. As far as why didnt ward finish Miranda, this was a different fight for ward then he has had previously. There was a lot of inside fighting and wrestling after the first few rounds. I was surprised to see it as this isnt normally wards style. Miranda just makes people fight ugly. What i was happy about is even when Miranda was makign ward fight ugly, ward still got the better of it. I think ward figths very within himself and concentrates on landing clean and protecting himself, thats why he doesnt drop rounds and thats why you wont see big dramatic knock outs. Most casual fans wont be keen on this style. I think it shows rings smarts and allows him to display his boxing ability.
Some valid points there, and i can see why you pick Ward over Froch.Thing is Miranda is a blown up middleweight,Froch is a natural SMW and a big strong SMW,Ward was easily outboxing Miranda, but his punches were having no effect other than scoring points. That may sound a stupid statement, but Those punches wont keep Froch at bay,if Froch senses Ward lacks the power to hurt him he will walk through him.Froch is no pressure fighter, but is a stalker and very heavy handed.Once Froch starts unloading, will Wards skills and movement be enough ? We will have to wait and see. P.S its nice to dissagree and debate rather than have the usual childish insults and snipes.Shame there aren't more posters like you on here.Peace :good
