Looks like he showers pretty regularly to me. None of his opponents have complained about a smell or anything. I actually think he looks cleaner than Green.

I’m a fan of Ward, and even I can’t deny the fact that he is a dirty fighter. It seems to be an effective style, but at the same time, I can understand why so many people detest his fights.

Other than his notorious headbutts, when on the inside he keeps the left hand glued to the side of his face, and raises his elbow up towards the opponent. So whenever anyone trades with him up close, they have to put up with an elbow in their face. It’s proper dirty, but he’s been allowed to get away with it so far. That may change, however, if he opts to fight elsewhere with a more strict referee.

As dirty as they come only seems to fight in Oakland. That's a bad combination for his opponents.

Agreed. He hits then dives in low then comes up with the head and shoulder inside. I was hoping that he was going to be a new slick star but i didn't like what i saw.

Very boring, and frustrating to watch, a real spoiler. The ref was brutal in the Bika fight though didn't help things. He completely hustled Kessler.

The right elbow he landed on Bika in round 9 at 1:30, on the blind side of the referee was a beauty too.

He is going to be tough fight for Froch with his speed and inside fighting.

Loved Froch's comment in the On The Ropes interview when he says if Ward tries any of that stuff on him, he'll get some back. And you just know all the Wardies would be outraged.

Ward is a winner. You have to look past the "roughhouse" tactics to appreciate what he's doing and his vast set of skills and inside fighting. I think sometimes he tends to over do the clinching when it's not necessary though, and i think i know the reasons why.

It's clearly because he has stamina issues and doesn't want to get hit so hugs and holds for 2 minutes of every round.
He is like Ricky Hatton who most Americans belittled and shouted hugging cheater about.

So then... If Joe Cortez is the ref ward isn't allowed to hug and hold right ? :rofl

I was just asking the same question when it comes to Hatton and Dave Parriss.
