I agree Ward is far more accomplished but I do believe Ward doesn't command the fan base GGG has been steadily building while Andre has been sidelined with legal battles. The A-side has a lot to do with who has more drawing power to increase the pot. Andre has a good following in Oakland and in pockets of CA but Triple G has a broader audience.
Ward is the A-side due to longevity and resume. But unfortunately resume means d*ck if you can spot talent. There is a reason nobody wants to fight GGG. Unlike other up and coming emerging talents most boxers will want to knock them off the top spot before they even get there. With GGG, everyone notes his excellence and stays well clear of him. Look at guys like: Wilder Joshua Garcia Broner Chavez Jr Santa Cruz Groves Kirkland Mares Quillin These guys all have one thing in common. They have succeeded on the B&C level but the A side boxers and trainers can see their flaws thus wanting their man to go in and take them out. Maybe everyone on that list apart from Joshua i can see flaws in their game. Why wouldn't you be encouraged to fight them? Especially when they dont step up competition due to WILLINGLY picking the easy route on some occasions. GGG wants the best all the time because he is the best.
To me it seems eastern europe fighters are starting to dominate as much as americans. And in the old days it was easy to dominate, there were no soviet boxers in professional scene. And now if they have a star in some weighclass, they immediately say it's full of talent. If Wlad would be american, you would label it as an strong era, with full of talent. Fact is,americans dominate hyping, more than americans fighters dominate the ring.
mickey ward? what would ward do too that drunkard!! love the way you cowards are scared to match him 8 pounds heavier. But, want him to fight floyd, but never pac!! you god damn jackasses!
Ward is the A side to no one. the top fighters in the division are picking up bigger pay-cheques than he is. it's simple to understand really. well, to some people it's not.
I would pay to watch GGG fight no problems....but if Ward was fighting in my Back Yard I would pull the blinds.....Boring as Bat****.!!!!
Exactly They're both EDGE OF THE SEAT fighters. GGG puts you on the edge of your seat because he brings excitement and great knockouts. Ward puts you on the edge of your seat because his fights are so boring you have to sit on the edge to get up and leave the room. No one is interested in Ward and i guarantee you he will never make close to the money he made against Edwin Rodriguez, HBO just paid over the odds because they thought they were getting the next Mayweather when infact they got Hopkins without the personality. Also remember GGG's pay is only what he makes from HBO, he also gets paid big from Russian and Kazak tv plus will be seen by far more people around the world then Ward could wish to see. I guarantee that GGG is far more well known in Cali and America then Ward is. Ward needs GGG not the other way around.
