Ward is better than Calzaghe, would beat Calzaghe, and will soon be the #1 SMW ever.

    - Ward has better abilities than Calzaghe, a far superior skillset. Calzaghe had relatively poor technical abilities and a **** defence, relying heavily on handspeed, stamina, and a decent chin. Ward can fight on the inside or the outside, has the same handspeed as Calzaghe but better footspeed, has MUCH better punching technique, and is just far more accomplished all-round.

    - Ward would trounce the best version of Calzaghe in a fight. Calzaghe never fought a prime, HOF-class fighter or a prime slick boxer, and if he had, his technical shortcomings would have been sorely exposed. Ward would've landed flush on Joe C all night long, destroyed him on the inside or outboxed/outfoxed him from the outside, while Calzaghe's trademark slap-flurries would've been hitting fresh air all night long.

    - After Ward dominates Lucian Bute, he'll have cleaned out the division in less than half the time it took Calzaghe, he'll have won the Super Six tournament, and will hold one-sided victories over Lucian Bute, Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler (who he beat more convincingly than Calzaghe did), and more. This will make him the clear and obvious choice for the Greatest Supermiddleweight Of All-Time

First of all, Clazaghe best win over prime fighter is Kessler, RJJ doesnt count at all he was beyond shot, Eubank wasnt prime for sure, Lacy super hyped, Hopkins great win(not prime but very very good), if Ward fights Bute for me he already has more good prime fighters on his record than Joe.
I know whats coming now Joe fans claiming he is unbeatable etc...

Your correct on every point aside from your overlooking one thing. Ward is already the most accomplished SMW of all time. His best wins are better than Calzaghe's at SMW. As the calzaghe nutthugers are quick to point out "only wins at smw count" so throw out Joe's **** wins at 175 and not much is left.

Get a ****ing grip, and stop spreading your propaganda around, no one cares, no one wants to know.

Calzaghe fans are ridiculous. out slagging off Froch already least the guy has the balls to take these fights.

Thing about Joe is his resume is so **** a lesser fighter could easily surpass it.

If he isn't better than Calzaghe now, he will be by the time his career finishes. Easily.

Calzaghe's fragile status as the greatest SMW in history, is coming to an end soon.

What if Hopkins beats Ward when their rumoured fight happens?
    What then?
Hardly great being beaten by a pensioner
And Hopkins can match Ward for headbutts and elbows:yep

ward has another 21 fights to go. Also, calzaghes era of smw was weaker than todays, not his fault. And many big names didnt want to fight him.

Not sure if that fight will even happen. It's not clear how long Ward plans on remaining at 168. He still has to fight Bute - which I don't see happening until a year from now - and it may be too late for Hopkins to wait around for Ward to move up. And if he did, I think Ward would beat him.
