This. He uses all his skills and should be appreciated for the level hes fought at.. I'm partial to fighters like Froch but you cant deny Wards skills and accomplishments at this point in his career.
Those are the guys i prefer. I want to see blood and guts heart. It doesnt stop me from appreciating great talent though.
I found Ward's last 2 fights entertaining. He dropped and stopped Dawson and he hit Rodriguez with some brutal shots and was looking for the KO in the 10th. He doesn't have any real power but at least he tries for to be aggressive despite his lack of power.
I share these sentiments. We are all here to express opinions. I am always puzzled why some people take offense because I don't like their fighter. It's nothing personal. It's just an observation. And then I have to remind myself that people of all ages post on sites. I could be communicating with a 12 year old living in Oakland for all I know.
So if they arent taking punches they arent showing blood, guts and heart? If any of those guys could avoid the shots they take they wouldnt take them, so what you appreciate is less skill/ ring IQ
Hes boring cause hes too good, its not his fault that nobody in his division is not on his level and not good enough to make it a competitive fight. I'm not a fan of one sided fights but i'm not gonna blame the guy who has worked hard to be much better than his opposition and we cant say he hasnt take on the best there either cause he has, hes just too damn good for the other super middleweights.
I feel like I am beating a dead horse. But here goes... No, I like a lot of different fighters who have different styles. I think Rigondeaux, for example, is a very interesting fighter. He totally schooled Donaire. It wasn't the most exciting fight but the skills he showed were incredible. As I said, Jones, for a while, was above everyone. He was that good. In his prime, he took almost no punches but he was exciting because he could KO anyone at any time. The body shot that took out Virgil Hill was amazing. He is a great example of a guy who avoided punches but WAS NOT BORING. He mixed it up but he was so fast that he rarely got hit. Only when he got older and his skills diminished did he get hit. He hung around too long. Both men in their prime? Jones would have destroyed Ward.
Your Losing... I live in San Jose.. He is in the Papers.. on the local news.. plus he does fine Selling Oracle Arena in Oakland.. He could Possibly sell San Jose Area as well.. Fall back with that living under a rock talk...
I have not seen a boxer throw that left so quickly in a matter of seconds and snapping heads like Right Said Fred:rofl I'm too *S..e.*X*y for my shirt....so **X.*y it hurts..... OK that sounded gay....anyway, Ward has talent just ask the last few guys that went toe to toe bro. BTW......who cares if he half black or half white or half Iranian .....geeeez focus on the boxer.....not his backpack :smoke
Are you serious ??? He is way more engaged in the fight than Mayweather. What do you want him to do abandon his boxing skills and brawl like an idiot to keep `fans` happy ??? I think you are in the minority here... He could be a bit more exciting but at what cost ? His style works for him and like it or not, he has SCHOOLED the entire super middle division, fact ...Taking chances to please people , how dumb is that ? Hey, what do I know, I like Bernard Hopkins body of work too. And I`m sure people will say how horrid and boring BHop is too ...
He is not Rios, GGG,,or Santa Cruz (excitement wise) but what he is however, is far superior to the aforementioned fighters... Yes FAR superior , and if GGG makes the mistake of venturing north, you will see how superior Ward truly is... BTW, I am 53 and was in attendance for Hagler/Hearns so I know what a TRULY exciting fight/fighters look like
