The only fight that made me fall asleep watching Ward was against Green. That fight was just horrible. Ward overall is exciting to me. The way he makes good fighters look like C level fighters is amazing. I still find Floyd more entertaining though.
Again, im not saying that he IS that boring. He just somehow comes off that way. When I watch his fights I see him doing great work...being untouchable, doing everything he should do, but im not intrigued even though I love pure boxers. I cant really understand it myself. Theres just something about him, I mean I cant be alone there has to be a reason he is one of the smallest draws of the top level fighters.
Mayweather is more aesthetically pleasing to watch. Ward's style is more synonymous to Bernard Hopkins. Ward can have a herky jerky, dirty type of style. But if you know what you are looking for, craft, nuances, etc, its not boring.
Against cherry-picked opponents. I'd say going through all the champs in their primes or near primes is more exciting than retiring out of your division when it's stacked with fighters on winning streaks, coming back when it's over, and ducking the only one still on top. Ward is the real G.
Mayweather clinches to avoid exchanges, uses his elbows illegally and excessively, ducks below the waist (to create breaks in action), and Ward is dirty?
That's the dirty part, but I was addressing the poster saying one was aesthetically pleasing while the other was herky jerky and dirty. In other words, Floyd slows down the action too, bending below waist and clinching, and could also be seen as dirty, (that elbow thing is just fouling imo.)
