He does not care about the money, he does not care about the fame, he does not care about protecting his 0, all he wants is to go down as the best fighter possible. All he knows is how to win and how to succeed through doubt and lack of appreciation.

Ward could retire comfortably with his wife and kids, a healthy bnk balance to have to never work a day more and can comfortably provide for his family. He is a simple man with simple needs and wants and he has provided for that life. He will arguably go down as the best 168 fighter of all time (top 2 undisputed, many see him above Calzaghe...but that's not the point). His legacy is set in stone as one of the best fighters of the last 20 years, America's last gold medalist and all round one of the most gifted boxers of all time.

But no, that is not the Andre Ward way, he wants more than greatness.

The guy picks the highest ranked and most realistic possible opponent in his full comeback and real debut at 175 flat and he is gunning for the top dog. A fight with Adonis/Kovalev was impossible at this stage, Ward's inactivity and injuries have prevented an instant super fight. Plagued with business bs and niggling injuries, the man has composed himself and is slowly getting back on the road to p4p #1 status. A lot of people can learn from this guys resilience, dedication to the craft, determination and fearlessness.

You can hate, you can abuse, but you will be forced to accept and respect the greatness of Andre Ward.

    o shut up fool

The only reason he moved up and he even admitted this was because of weight and the fact he could not get any money fights at 168

Ward was forced to move up nothing else to it poor him

If he could of made money at 168 and get the fights he wouldnt of moved up ahaha

Ward is only moved up because he was forced

He even admited on clips that he moved up because he could not make weight and the fact he can't get the fights he want at 168 so he HAD to move up

    :hi:

Your negative attitude will stutter your journey towards to success.

You can hate, you can abuse, but you will be forced to accept and respect the greatness of Andre Ward.

New weightclass with not much history, not really all that impressive. What he'll do at LHW will mark whether he's really an ATG or not.

If he didn't care about the prestige, fame and money he wouldn't have scuppered his career like he did with the law suit with Goosen. He wouldn't of fought Dawson at 168lbs and instead would of moved up to become a 2 weight champion and enhance his legacy. He would of fought Bute his then most worthy opponent instead of asking Bute to prove himself and to build up the fight.

Ward does seem like a decent human being but lets not pretend he is something he isn't.

probably you are right but he has only 2 great win's in his record vs Froch and Kessler.

Ward never fought outside the USA while the other top fighters where from europe.
I would rate him behind Calzaghe and Eubank

ward is a very good fighter / but he does not leave the home town comforts of california and should be marked down for this.

so much easier with sole home town advantage than fighting on the road in your opponents backyard to keep a perfect 0

He has demonstrated the courage of a Mountain Lion over the past couple of years, and with his superior night vision he is passionately orbiting towards catastrophic magnitude.

I wouldn't be surprised if he owned a Country one day. I feel an interim WBA title reign coming up soon.
