    Virgil actually feels bad Sergey is making that kind of $ as the champion. He thinks it should be closer!

    Virgl is trying to infer that Main Events may be "Cheating" Sergey out of a higher purse!!

    That's all sorts of wrong. Although Ward is massively overpaid in this case...

    Guess it's like pre-emptive damage compensation.

    How is he being overpaid? He's a bigger draw than Sergey, always has been. I knew Ward would be getting more. I do agree that it should be a bit closer though. 4-3 coulda been better. For Ward

    Indeed he is, and that's irrefutable.

    And Ward IS THE BIGGER DRAW, that's why he's making significantly more. I do feel bad for Sergey though.

    Kov is the only reason this Fight is happening.
    Ward wasn't gonna fight him for fair money, that greedy pos.

    How's it greed? The promoters put up the money and Sergey agreed to it.

    Ward has always been the bigger draw, that's what I told everyone. People just don't listen.

    People are suggesting Main Events is "cheating" Sergey

    Defo all wrong, biggest fight in LHW the champion only getting $2m that is ridiculous.

    In the UK hearn would get him $5m easy with PPV.

    Yeah impossible to argue with that MVC,I guess it's a shame Kovalev isn't getting three million at the very least but hey the main thing here is that they're both fighting tomorrow in what is one of the biggest fights in years,puts others to shame I reckon?

    Unsure, I don't think that's been released.

    But I suspect both should get a little something something if the PPV # hits a certain mark. That's how it's always been

    Kovalev only intention is to fight, he doesn't care about the money. They thought they could try to offer him an unreasonable deal like they did with GGG and he would refuse the contract. He called their bluff and now Ward is backed into a corner.

    Ward is taking a bigger risk physically, let's be honest, so wants extra money. They're pretty close in terms of drawing power in my opinion, but Kovalev has always been willing to take tiny purses (beyond the call of duty) to get good fights. He took $250k against Hopkins. I respect that.

    I don't have a problem with Ward being paid $5 million, just think Kova deserves more than $2 million.
