If Kovalev wins lets see how his marketability will go in the US. I doubt it will change. Remember GGG haters tell him he should just fight Canelo and if he wins his marketability will skyrocket. Again, I doubt it.

Now c'mon get real do you think either Pollo or cotto would have fought him had he enforced his mandatories?? No they'd both have done what Pollo did & given the bogus title up & you know it
GGG shouldn't need to go searching for opponents he is the Universally recognized Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World. Where are the 160 pounders who should be bursting to get a chance at the champ??
Looks like none of them got the stones to try
Your philosophy seems to be the only way they'll get fights is be short changed. Well Sergey called their bluff & I hope & pray he KO's Ward on sat night & doesn't have to rely on fair officiating

    So now we know
He shouldn't have to do that though. It really does show how little the US values overseas talent.

you don't "have" to see it again. simply do not watch the rematch. that is what people were doing with fury-klitschko.

If you followed GGG for a while, he used to be willing to go out of his way to make fights, it's just his team feel he's getting old and want to maximize $$$ now.

It's crazy to look at these purses when guys on PBC make millions of dollars fighting much less competition. I'm pretty sure Garcia just received over a million bucks fighting a sparring session against Vargas.

I like Golovkin but he has always seemed to be just about the money to me. Taking step-aside money is not about willing to make fights for yourself. He has put himself in this box and seems too stubborn to compromise to make a decent fight. Hell, give Jacobs 30 or 35% to make the fight. Don't get me wrong, like I said above, I like Golovkin but have no sympathy with that "no one wants to fight me" crap.

I guess we will never know will we? At least the title would have been stripped from them and Golovkin is just about the belts, right?

When Universum Box-Promotion were promoting Golovkin, he did his best to get decent opponents regardless of the money. He offered to fight for a world title for free, that's how desparate he was.

Universum were complete clowns, however, and wouldn't let GGG build himself up. It took a lawsuit to get him of them.

    Hence the poor resume.

Kovalev comes here with nothing, has to live in a shack in the woods of N. Carolina and does not get paid until his 19th pro fight. Finally gets one dying, desperate promotional company to sign him and he makes good only to be continually discriminated upon both socially and economically.

Tell me once again; who the privileged ones are?

I know he got messed around by his previous promoter but his current promoter doesn't seem to be doing that great by him either. I don't know what is going on in negotiations but people like Sonny Liston and George Foreman were able to make fights and they certainly were much "scarier" to get in the ring with than Golovkin.
