If this was GG you'd say the checks, but since it's Kov Ward, that's why you're asking this dumb question.

I really wasn't expecting it to be that lopsided.

Hopefully after this Kovalev will bet more big, well paying fights.

Sturm, Martinez, Cotto and Canelo are all fights where he was prepared to take the short end. I'd imagine Froch would have got the lions share had that fight come to fruition too.

The paychecks are far more important than the fight itself, fyi.

Win lose or draw I got much respect for kovalev here's a guy who's the champ but he wants to dare to be great prove he's the best and he took less to make the fight happen. Everyone here should be a kovalev fan he's everything right with boxing.

Sergio is getting screwed. And they will screw him for the title if it goes to a decision which it probably will.

Ward should be getting more anyway. He, not Sergey is the one who take the risk by moving up.

It is what is it, if Hunter is so concerned by Kov making less ask Ward to give him some of the cash he is making for the fight to Kovalev, it's all just attempt at one last mind game before they get in the ring to face one another. It's the same with people trying to make a big deal of Kovalev asking for a rematch, of course he is going to ask for one as he is the one who is bringing all the belts to the party.

I honestly don't think Hunter cares in the least about that. He was merely rolling the dice and seeing if he couldn't get into the heads of Camp Kovalev to amplify their tensions. I don't think it worked (except maybe on Duva), and I don't think he expected it to work.

    Geeze!

Haven't any of you seen a press conference before? It's common practice for promoters and trainers to talk their fighters up ahead of a big fight.

As a fan I don't give a **** who's making what I just want to see the fight, don't matter who it is. I don't walk around talking about which NFL players make the most, do you?

You're right. The opponents of power-punchers like Kov and GGG usually ask for big purses; against a huge puncher, not only do you risk a loss, you risk a serious injury too.
