Since when does amateur experience count for anything in the PROFESSIONAL ranks? If amateur experience is so important then Teofilo Stevenson is the greatest HW of all time...

Which is EXACTLY my point. Amateur experience counts for NOTHING in the professional ranks. You Bumlovstans need to STOP bringing up Bumlovkin's accomplishments in the AMs as if they have a bearing on his professional experience. THEY DON'T.

 

Virgil keeps bragging that Ward hasn't lost a fight since he was 5 years old! That counts?

 

Ward's amateur experience means *nothing* in the professional ranks.

When Floyd was active Fight Hype rarely ever covered Ward. Now they are all over him.

 

I think amateurs should count, but only as a boost to an already succesful pro career not as a replacement if you know what I mean... so if a guy is a great pro but also has great amateur pedigree as well, that only makes it better IMO.

I have no problem with this. The problem I have is some of the Bumlovstans love to go on about what the Triple Duck has done as an amateur all while avoiding the really important question; Exactly WHO has Bumlovkin beaten as a PROFESSIONAL? How about the Bumlovstans who are so in love with the Triple Duck's AM record try answering that question...

Same thing with Rigo. Both are fantastic boxers but are ruining their careers demanding huge paydays when there is little demand to see them fight and outclass opponents. I rate Rigo higher than Ward, I need to see Ward take on a slick fighter who isn't fighting at the wrong weight instead of plodders.
