Ward is trying to psychologically destroy Kovalev right now

    You better believe that this is what Ward is going on about with regard to any possible rematch. He is going to try and lure Sergey and Duva into an all-time-great whine and control fest for any possible 2nd fight. It's a brilliant strategy by him to be honest because they'll probably follow him like a lost puppy begging to get a rematch and Ward will continue to balk at them and who knows if the fight will ever take place.

    This could potentially be catastrophic for Sergey's career because all he has to do is get back on the horse and just ignore Ward and go and fight Stevenson or Beterbiev. Playing mind games with Ward is an act of futility and a no-win situation. Sergey just needs to get back in the ring and better sooner than later. I'd like to see him even in a stay busy fight within the next couple of months because he needs to stay focused on his trade and not Ward's mouth.

    Ward has to either just honor the rematch contract, retire or lose massive money in court.
    It's incredible that some people even like the sh_t some of these sad divas pull instead of just being a man and fight.

    I thought this sport was about being the best in the ring.... some have other ideas

    Its all about who can survive for 12 rounds that wins it, as long as you try your best despite losing you should get the nod against an evil Russian.

    What does Ward gain with these "mind games"? If he doesn't want to fight Kovalev in the rematch and wants to retire he probably couldn't care less about what happens to Kovalev in the rest of his career.

    If he wants to continue to fight then he has to fight Kovalev because of the rematch clause unless he wants to go full Tyson Fury (full ******).

    Ward has already screwed up Kovalev's mind and confidence during and after the fight. :polutxoso:
    There's nothing that Ward is doing that he hasn't done yet. :coleman: Ward is just adding some more nails to the coffin :aaaaa::band:

    I find it strange everyone is praising Ward for being "smart". This is boxing. They didn't get into the sport to be businessmen. They should be fighters first. Let me tell you something, Ward doesn't want to fight Kovalev again because if he does it will be an absolute beat down.
