:| He was getting beat up...No matter how you try to put it...he was getting his ass handed to him...He couldnt even adjust to what Ward was throwing at him...and you expect me to believe it would have made a difference if the head butts didnt occur...Please dont tell me to get my perception right because you're being in denial....Kessler just doesnt have what it takes and it sounds like you're making every attempt to make excuses for him!:patsch

the fight wouldve turned out the same, kessler getting jabbed and hooked to death, ward getting a lop-sided UD upsetting the many kessler fanatics not giving ward a punchers chance in hell. kessler is a limited fighter that will always lose to a fast, elusive boxer.

probably one with danish commentary, they didn't want people who couldn't see the fight or translate danish to know their hero was getting starched.

I haven't seen the fight yet don't have an opinion wether the headbutts where intentional or not, but if they are I say punch the dude in the nuts don't complain to the ref, thats what I think. I had Kess as a big favourite going into this felt pretty Sure he'd beat em all, Kinda like this though It's wide open all of a sudden :)

how was he the better man, with overall advantages in speed and movement (not to mention accuracy), if he won the fight because of the head butts? if kessler would have won the majority of the rounds, he would have walked home with those belts, regardless of the cuts stoppage. what are you saying? stop making excuses for mikkel kessler. he lost fair and square, and totally within the rules of boxing.
also, even though you didnt address this, ITS NOT ANYONES FAULT BUT MIKKEL KESSLER'S OWN THAT HE HASNT FOUGHT FIGHTERS WHO ACTUALLY UTILIZE THE REFEREES ALLOWANCE OF FIGHTING OUT OF THE CLENCH, AND WAS THEREFORE UNPREPARED FOR SUCH. certain european boxing styles might not cater to that specific boxing tactic, but they do pretty much everywhere else, and if european fighters want to avoid situations like mikkel kessler's, then they need to continue being protected and only fighting in their own countries, or they need to petition for a new form of boxing entirely.

This is what we don't know yet. If those nasty headbutts did in fact influence Kessler's vision, clearly it must have affected the fight. Let's hear what Kessler has to say about it tomorrow. What we do know at this moment in time is that Kessler is far from happy with his own performance so I guess the headbutts weren't super important for the outcome.

First headbutt/cutt happenend near the final 10 seconds of round 3. Minor compared to the rest though.

Personally, clinches and headbutts aside, Kessler seemed just in shock. It was like an ambush, he didn't expect this kind of Ward and Kessler simply wasn't prepared mentally for the fight to go like that. By the 6th round he was shell shocked. Ward was litterally lunging towards Kessler and just letting his hands go and instead of throwing something to catch Ward, he was flinching and stepping backwards.

    Ward had Kessler psyched out.

I hope to see a rematch. Honestly, Miranda did better than Kessler, I think Kessler can make the adjustments. The announcers mentioned that Kessler didn't even use any southpaws during training. I'm interested to seeing if Taylor can capitalize on this.

I am sick of the excuses, if Kessler felt like he was getting fouled, he should have fouled back...it is a FIGHT, no?

Time for Miranda vs Kessler ... 50/50 fight now. :bbb

Miranda isn't the most skilled and Kessler was never elite.

Actually, too bad Joe retired. Maybe average Miranda could have taken Joe the distance like average David Starie in a life and death struggle or dropped him like Salem.

It is who you fight and when you fight them that matters. Records of guys who fight 90% of the time in one place with the same conditions, same rotation of judges and refs, etc., are usually bogus. Those things don't happen by accident.

I was also actually impressed with the amount of advanced tactics that I saw Ward employ in there. He looked like an absolute veteran with the stuff he was doing.

He wasn't cut above the eye. My question is why could Kessler not see after round 5 if the cut above his eye did not open until round 8. It's a simple question. What was preventing him from seeing?
