How many rounds did it take Abraham to KO Miranda? I guess Kessler is invicible in your book? Is he human?

Ward is very similar to Calzaghe. He'll beat Kessler just like Calzaghe did. Kessler is very good but this is a stylistic mismatch in Ward's favor.

I think Ward will cause Kessler bigger problems than any of the others guys. However Ward is not half the boxer Calzaghe was. It will be a stylistic mismatch for Kessler but he will win. Late rounds TKO Kessler

No matter what some delusional people say, Kessler will win this fight.

Ward is very talented but no where near the elite level which Calzaghe was.

Ward hasnt got the chin, footwork, speed or ring generalship as Calzaghe had.

Kesslr will win this fight because Ward will get hit by a jab all night and everytime he tries to get inside he will get hit. Hard.

I simply cannot see what Ward can do to surpise Kessler.

Dirrell actually has the better chance against Kessler imho.

If you want to make safe money - bet on Kessler. And theres a good chance of a TKO/KO.

I think, in response to the highlighted text, that Kess won't necessarily need to adjust. If Kess has the required stamina he should be able to force his style on Ward, that is, eventually forcing Ward on the ropes.

Regarding bodywork, remember that it leaves the executioners head more exposed as opposed to straight punches to the opponents head. I can only imagine Kessler thinking straight punches to the head leaves him with some feeling of still having a guard. Throwing hooks generally renders you much more volnerable.

Saying Ward is similar to Calzaghe is a very superficial judgement at this point. It also ignores a very pertinent point about how Calzaghe beat Kessler.

Maybe you didn't watch the Kessler v Calzaghe fight and therefore don't realise that Calzaghe only got on top of Kessler by stopping doing most of the things that you think make Ward similar to him.

What Ward hasn't shown thus far in his career is that adaptability that Cazlaghe had. We haven't seen that he has the chin to take the sort of shots that Calzaghe took. Do you imagine Ward being able to cut out the flashy combinations and outjab Kessler from the outside like Calzaghe did?

I thought Calzaghe also found another level of intensity. They were already fighting at a pretty good pace, but JC seemed to find yet another, higher, gear going into the mid rounds. I've seen nothing that says Ward can do that.

Calzaghe adjusted in the fight versus Kessler and this changed it. It was quite clear in the beginning that this was two equal fighters. While i do agree that Kessler might have lost a little since, Ward will not win. He will be tough, stylistically be one of the toughest fights for Kessler in the super six (Taylor, Froch the easiest), but he is around the level of Mundine, maybe slightly better, and Mundine was outclassed at home, with Kessler having a back injury in the fight, and at the same time he did not have a good fight, as he said himself.

    Kessler late TKO or UD.

Ward 7/2 to win on points might be worth a punt though. The only way he will win is on points so can't quite understand the bookies here, given that he's 6/4 to win outright.
