    1. Yes, it was a controversial stoppage. The fact Ward stopped Kovalev is a massive shock.
    2. Yes, in hindsight (very important word for you dumb asses), the fight should not have been stopped in that instance.
    3. Yes, the final punch was 100% low.

    HOWEVER:

    4. Here is Tony Weeks showing what is legal: https://i.imgur.com/gP36ao5.jpg. Aside from the final punch, all punches adhere to this.

    5. Your dick and balls are not on your navel.

    6. Kovalev was done. He was gassed, not gassing, gassed. He was looking for easy ways out, ways to quit. Never turning your back is the second thing you learn in Boxing after protecting yourself at all times. He was rocked by a cracking right hand and in the lead up to the finish Ward landed some of the most clever body shots to put Kovalev in a world of hurt. He was throwing nothing back at all.

    7. The fight would not have made it out of the 8th regardless. Kovalev dropped his hands and sat on the bottom rope as his form of defence. No throwing back, not even trying to stop punches. Like above, trying to find a way to quit. If Ward throws three of four more punches the fight is stopped anyway.

    8. Kovalev has to take a knee there, he simply has to. If not and you're acting like he did, you're always liable to be pulled out of there. Tim Bradley against Provodnikov is a perfect example of what you need to do as a fighter giving yourself every chance.

    9. No complaints from Kovalev immediately, and no complaints from JDJ. Only one complaining is that STD ridden wrinkled ball bag tranny Kathy Duva and Kovalev trying to save face.

    10. Harold Lederman needs to be put in a retirement home. The man cannot score a fight for s**t. Lampley might be his neighbor in a few years.

    11. Last but not least, Andre Ward is undisputed P4P #1. He's now an all time great. The man's story keeps getting better and better. Justice to racists and hatred amongst keyboard warriors is ever so sweet. Stay hungry, stay humble and never let no man try to run over you.

I don't think the stoppage was controversial. He didn't defend himself threw back like 3-4 shots compared to wards 25-30+. He was done and gassed. Ward smelled it the round before when Kova complained and was breathing heavily.

    Really terrific performance from Ward.

    12. The haters were never going to give Ward credit and latch onto whatever they could to discredit him.

    13. We all knew the excuses were coming.

    14. Kovalev himself said the shot did not hurt him.

"It was a low blow. It didn't hurt like I could go down on the floor but it was a low blow," Kovalev said. "Right now, I should've continued. I didn't feel it. This is fight. We are boxers. Yes, he punched me but I didn't feel it. It didn't hurt me. I wanted to continue fighting. Why stop the fight? I want to continue and kick his ass."

    15. TKO8: The butt hurt will never end.

Agree 100%. I said it to a friend of mine, if this was Golovkin, or Canelo or even Kovalev himself in Ward's shoes there would be not near a fuss.

    16. Kovalev never made adjustments from the first fight and made the same mistakes.

    17. Kovalev was still limited to mostly landing a jab just like in first fight.

    18. Kovalev entered as a victim and left as a victim.

    19. Kovalev was a beat fighter period.

The following is Game set and match.......... After ward landed that big right hand in the 8th round kovalev was rocked! he did a little dance and was out on his feet in sheer survival mode,Ward then followed up with a few more viscous shots and kovalev looked like he was ready to go at any point

Tony weeks at the start of the fight pointed to where was legal, The last shot that kovalev complained about for being low before ward rocked him with the big right hand was exactly in the place tony weeks said was legal. see picture below

Ward had kovalev rocked and out on his feet 100% fair and square, without even getting into the last 3 shots, look at the state of kovalev before the final 3 shots and you can not tell me he would have survived the round.

I agree with most except I agree with Lederman I had Kovalev winning on the cards as did Dan Rafael.
The last punch was clearly low and it hurt Kovalev but I can't feel sorry for him Ward rocked him with a clean shot and followed up to the body like a demon. Great boxing.
Kovalev should of taken a knee but I kind of agree he was looking for way out - he threw ton of punches and was gassed and Ward was all over him and wasn't going to allow him to get that second wind he needed.
Good stuff from Ward and he is now p4p number 1 imo.
Bad stoppage but none of that is Ward's fault. He did what he had to do

Kovalev promised to give a War and TKO. He was right, only he was on the receiving end.
Kov was never in control and was out of gas from 4th round. He should accept defeat and be a man than making excuses and sounding more pathetic.

Idiots, they were LOW illegal blows and kovalev was not done, if fact he was winning the fight, not only is ward the most protected fighter in the history of the sport, he is also allowed to headbutt, yeah remember those fights, and now low blow his way to win, i cant stand people like him

I like how Ward fans create topic, reply to each other and make a conclusion

But the fact is that if Ward was penalised for low blows in the beginning of the fight the ending would have been different. Constant low blows do help to gas out opponent...

I bet Kovalev doesn't think Ward's punches are like 'little taps' anymore
