Ward/Kovalev might end up being a boring fight.

Look at the big hyped up PPV fights that have happened recently that didn't live up to the hype and were boring. Like Crawford/Postol, Fury/Klitschko and Mayweather/Pacquiao as 3 examples. People wasted their money on them.

I reckon Ward/Kovalev will be similar and be a snooze fest, with Ward running, hugging and headbutting all day long to get the UD win. People will be hoping for knockdowns, blood, knockout, a war etc, I don't think any of that will happen.

When was the last time Ward head butted? Kessler? When was the last time he "ran"?

Watch Crawford/Postol... This fight will be almost exactly. Except Andre won't have to use his legs as much.

If Andre Ward is involved there is a decent chance the fight will be boring.

We know Ward is not going to stand there and get his head knocked off. He is going to actually use all the tools at his disposal to BOX and try to get the win. And Kovalev won't be able to do anything about it. Is that what you mean by "boring?" Some of you guys should stop watching boxing.

Ward is going to snatch up all of Sergey's titles.

Ward is gonna get dropped very early, 1st or 2nd round, then fight very cautiously for the next couple rounds. He's gonna slowly start to figure Kovalev out and have success, winning 2 or 3 rounds in a row. Then one of Wards counters will get countered hard, hurting Ward badly in the 7th. That will prove to be the beginning of the end.

Ward drops Sergey with a huge left hook, like he did Barrera. But this time, Kovalev gets up with shaky legs, he's trying to cover up but Ward finishes him off :nod

Highly, highly unlikely. I really feel that my prediction makes much sense.

More likely actually. Kovalev has a shakier chin than Ward.

It's undeniable that Ward has stayed vertical longer than Kovalev in the ring. :deal

Ward dropped once, Kovalev dropped twice

It'll be a chess match for sure. If Ward doesn't fight cautiously and try to use all of the tools in his ****nal then he's an idiot. And Ward is no idiot. If Kovalev doesn't work on his uppercuts and dealing with inside fighting then he's an idiot too. It may be boring but I think by the 7-8 round something big will happen and then fight will really unfold.

I realize that it's easier to play into stereotypes, but Kovalev could well box conservatively and make Andre lead, waiting to time him, knowing that Ward is reluctant to be the aggressor.

I could easily see this turning into a waiting game of who counters who.
