Ward/Kovalev needs to be at a CW, Ward is too small for 175. 171-172 is fair

Ward and Kovalev are pretty even in size, but Ward is a bit smaller, I say that because I doubt Kovalev can make 168 or 170. With that said, Ward will have no problems making 175. The only thing he'd probably need to get acclimated to is the bigger opponents he'd be fighting.

I don't think Ward could make 160 to fight Golovkin.

    Sorry.

I've just heard some say Ward could move down to MW for Golovkin.

ward dragged dawson down from 175 to 168 not even a catch weight BUT DRAGGED HIM DOWN TO HIS DIVIOSN

it would be like GGG asking ward to come down to 160 but he said 164

Jacobs weighed 175 in the ring last night and Quillin weighed 190. Jacobs stopped him in one round.

Enough of this nitpicking over a couple of pounds.

If Andre Ward is the best pound-for-pound fighter, then he can't say "I lost because Kovalev weighed 7 POUNDs more than I did."

Golovkin, Ward, Kovalev ... they all just need to fight and quit the bull.

Obvious trolling here. Ward should not have moved up if he can't fight guys at the weight. We will see after a couple of tune ups if he can handle guys at the weight. I doubt it will be any issues. He's a physically strong guy and has a frame to carry 175. And his skills are supreme. He should be OK. If he were moving to cruiserweight, I could understand the point.

So because Ward fought Dawson at 168 He should fight Golovkin at 160?

No but in the same respect Ward expected Golovkin to come straight to 168 to fight him yet he wants the best part of 12 months to grow into a division he had already fought in before facing Kovalev.

Ward is a great fighter who could have been so much better if not for the inactivity due to him thinking he's cleverer than he really is.
