Can't see it playing out any other way. I just hope JDJ gets the towel ready because I would hate for Kovalev to be ruined in one night like Pavlik. Let him fight another day.

Nothing at all, I'm (lmfao in a sad way) assuming any fan EVER compare a great fighter lIke Kovalev to Pavlik, who on his absolute best day is a B- fighter. Wow, just WOW, not just that horrific comparison, we have one trying to pretend ward could ever fight DOWN to a 40 ish hops. I see prime for prime as ward being a much superior fighter to hops, but styles make fights..

I can't imagine the terrible beating hops would had received IF he actually tried to beat Kovalev, he took a beating and he was in survival mode from round ONE.

People aren't grasping it's really hard to look good and especially get the stoppage when your opponent is only trying to survive.

No ****ing way either ward or Kovalev will Crack mentally and stop trying to win.. I hate when a fighter just tried to survive, like lasting the distance (in survival mode) is somehow better than going out on your shield, never would ward or Kovalev mentally quit and stink it out. Ward may bore it down but he'll do it while doing everything he can to WIN, which is ALL THAT MATTERS, the W

So let me get this straight.

Kovalev is suddenly gonna become a drunken hick, go on a 6 week bended while in camp, sign off on a TRT exemption for Ward, all in the next couple weeks?????:applaudit::applaudit::applaudit:

The situation is not similar at all. Kovalev is not moving to a weight he's never fought at before and Ward has been in a long layoff. Ward could very well outbox him but in no way do I see the possibility of shutout, it will be close.

Haha go back and re-watch Pavliks fight up until B hop and look at how he was being talked about. He obviously doesn't have the skillset of kkkov though

    Idiotic thread.

Kovalev is definitely a far better fighter than Pavlik. Pavlik was one-dimensional, Kovalev isn't one-dimensional.

Kovalev fights nothing like Pavlik, Ward doesn't fight all that similar to Hopkins, but since you went there, Hopkins was kind of dominated from bell to bell by Kovalev, so Hopkins couldn't beat Kovalev like he did a MW moving up in weight Pavlik, so why do you think Ward a SMW moving up in weight will?

You realize for that to happen Ward will have to stand right in front of Kovalev and in range of his punches, that's not gonna happen, and Ward in order to work Kovalev's body, he'll have to get close enough to get on the inside, something guys with far better chins than Ward were too scared to attempt. And when they did they were dropped or hurt.

Like you said Ward really doesn't fight like B Hop except on the inside, which B Hop didn't get to on Kkkovalev because he was scared and old. B hop had several chances to pull the trigger and hit Kkkov clean in their fight. But the fact was dude was too old n too shook to do it. Kovalev gets props for that.

The main difference between Kov and Pavlik is Kkkov can jab, and he can punch while moving. Ward will find a way to neutralize kkkov's jab by round 4 and will move inside with quick jabs, feints and left hooks. Will frustrate kkkov because he will be missing, progress throughout fight, with exception of lucky punch ward UD possible TKO if kkkov gases and runs into a body shot.

By round 4? A lot of guys don't see the 5th with Kovalev, he better hope it doesn't take that long to neutralize it.

the thing that really gripes me about your kind calling kovalev kkkovalev, is that it just shows how ignorant you are, the kkk wouldnt have accepted kovalev and would have hated him too. go and read up a bit on history before making a fool of yourself

Okay cool the racist russian dude, better? Like I said Ward will have Kovalev figured out by the 4th round, not while taking punishment in the process, but boxing along with Kovalev and seeing what his game plan is. 4rds is about what it takes floyd, and terrance crawford sometimes rigo can a lil faster if he's really on point. But yea technical masters usually its the 4th round.
