Kovalevs work in the early rounds was overrated. People in the RBR thread were giving him rounds off just not losing them because it looked like he was going to destroy Ward. Realistically, Ward won the third landing the only significant punch of the round, a clean left hook, and the 4th was even.

At best I thought ward won about 4 rounds.
Would like to see how the rounds were scored.

I will cry, because of what is happening to this sport. Not because one fighter I like lost against a fighter I don't like, but respect. Nevertheless, what happened today, twice on the same card, is destroying this sport.

It could have gone either way in my opinion. I would have been OK with a Kova decision, but with 3 american judges on american soil, this was almost expected.

Kovalev got cheated, the whole world saw a Kovalev victory. Kovalev outlanded and fought the better fight but still lost.

 

A draw would of meant kovalev would still have his titles. And the ghost p4p title would still be vacant. however a vacant p4p title that is rightfully the russians' cannot be whilst the yanks cheat boxing.
