Seriously, the Ward that fought Froch is gone. Now I know why Ward has been fighting no-hopers for awhile. He wasted his career and languished and it shows. He even said to Max that he was going for the KO and couldn't get it? Are you fuking kidding me? Kovalev would've knocked that guy out in the 1st round.

Ward is going to get polaxed vs. Kov. And did you see how much bigger Kovalev was than Ward when they were standing next to each other?

Ward has been coasting for years and it's going to show when he fights Kovalev.

Right because Brand fights exactly like Kovalev smh. Kovalev is not an awkward fighter. He's a pretty straight forward fighter, which will compliment Ward's style. I also think that if Ward landed some of the punches he landed tonight on Kovalev's chin, he would freeze him in his tracks. It's still a 50/50 type fight, though I favor Ward.

LOL...Ward is not a KO puncher. He hit Brand with hard shots all night. The guy has a chin, knows how to roll with shots and get out of the way of punches. Ward does not have big power. That's NOT his game. His advantage over Kovalev is that he is a much better boxer, offensively and defensively. He never had a chance in hell of stopping Kovalev.

Man Ward is so feather fisted and against a 39 year old nobody and for such a supposedly greatly skilled boxer, he was swinging at air. Kovalev is going to kill him.

    Kovalev by Fatality.

I don't know. I won't base it off this fight. If he can make Kovalev miss and counter it could get interesting. I will say this HBO gets nauseating when during a fight they make excuses for their house fighter when they are under performing. Couldn't anyone just say Ward should be getting this guy out of here and it looks bad that he can't?

Oh dear never seen the fight but going off the descriptions on here it sounded truly awful, couldn't get a knock out,now we know why his head butt was his best weapon.
Call it now this fight with Kovalev won't happen,Ward been to inactive for too long it would seem?

Kovalev's chin is also a hell of ua target. That coupled with Ward's accuracy, makes me think that Ward will be landing some snappy punches on Kovalev. I actually think that Ward CAN hurt Kovalev. Especially with his left hook. And Kovalev can obviously hurt Ward. Can't wait for the fight. Smart money is Ward by UD.

Ward did look sharp. However this was a 40 year old man that is a super middleweight and lacks world level talent. Ward's choice of opposition getting ready for Kovalev is going to cost him.

Yes he is. Way more tools in the toolbox. 1 shot KO power is not one of them though.

In this fight Ward had to pressure in the Kov fight is the Krusher who will pressure a lot. Thats what Ward likes.

Brand is a 40 year old SMW, forget a KO, Ward didn't even buzz him. At SMW Callum Smith would have blasted Brand out inside a couple of rounds.

Ward looked bang average tonight, Something didn't look right bout Ward tonight and going in to a fight with a man like Kovalev that is worrying.
