What was interesting was listening to Hunter's towards fighters of the past to the ones of the present. He clearly holds resentment towards those fighters who fought for the sake of fight to cement their places in the history books.

He patently advocated that the boxers of this present age need to do their utmost to become business men first and foremost over fighting men. Along with his unnecessary sly digs towards Jackson, I found what he had to say extremely distasteful and out of place.

 

And yet he has one of the top fighter in the sport who has fought the best in the past and is now fighting the best in his present division! So his actions fly in stark contradiction of your post! Why are you so sensitive as to what a trainer has to say to another trainer? Haters like you will always find something to say negative of a fighter you don't like! Oh, and that thread or post you wrote yesterday about Frank Ward developing Andre's style and Virgil is trying to take all the credit for it is BS! Hunter started training Ward when Ward was 9! Again, trying to discredit someone you hate with absolute nonsense and lies! You're one sorry dude!

 

Ward is the fighter he is, in spite of Virgil Hunter. Hunter has protected his other fighters in his stable and kept them away from threats. You only have to look at Amir Khan's level of opponents since he left Freddy Roach's team to see evidence of that.

Tell me, what other great champions has Hunter produced?

And are you seriously going to pretend that it was Virgil who introduced Ward to boxing? It was Frank who took him to his first sessions, and obviously after Virgil was introduced into his life full time where he took the role as a father figure to Ward after Frank's passing. That is indisputable

I take exception to the tone set by Hunter for what was meant to be a light amicable press conference, yet he couldn't help himself but to bring it down to gutter levels.

I never said that Hunter introduced Ward to boxing! I said he started training Ward when he was 9! Again with misinformation and lies! You can't help yourself can you? As far as Hunter producing multiple champs, well not to many trainers have produced multiple champs either. He is not alone when it comes to that! Again, who really cares what trainers say to each other? And who cares what you take exception to? Duva wanted to talk sh#t, well, that's what she gets! You come on here like you're an authority of boxing and what you say is the only way things should be! Please, you're a nobody, just like 99% of the people that frequent this site. There have been many trainers who have trained great champions who still maintain humility, decorum and respect for others. Namely Freddy Roach, Teddy Atlas, Emmanual Steward, Abel Sanchez, JD Jackson, Ignacio Beristain... shall I go on?

Clearly they have not let their achievements go to their head where they feel they have the position to comment on other fighters outside of their stables personal lives in routine press conferences. The fact that Virgil felt the need to behave as if he knew Kovalev, just goes to show the inflated opinion he has of himself.

As for Duva, she has been transparent regarding the difficulty of negotiations, she has never pretended that she is going to be the one in the ring with Ward as he implied. Neither has she personally attacked him. It is clear that she served as an easy target for Ward to puff himself up in front of the cameras. Kovalev has said much worse in the lead up, yet Ward never had the nerve to confront him about it face to face. Better to pick on a defenceless woman, who has no business being in the ring.

What people like Ward, Hunter and yourself fail to realise is that such unnecessary gutter street talk serves only to add further fuel to Kovalev which will make the punishment dished out even more greater.

 

Not greater but, more greater!!! Ok LOL Ward is going to confront Kov on Saturday, no need to talk trash when he has an opportunity to smack the man around! I don't care what trainers say! I don't care what boxers say! It's a fight and that is what is going to happen! 2 men at the top of their game are going to jump into the ring and fight! Who cares about what goes on in the build up! You don't like Ward , we know but, this constant bickering about every little thing he or Virgil says is really pathetic! Constantly trashing the guy which is ironic when one takes into consideration the fact you trash Virgil and Ward for talking about Kovalev. Always trying to minimize his accomplishments, which are far greater than Kovalev's, is what makes guys like me root for Ward even though I like Kovalev too.
