Ward actually looks like he is a natural teacher here. A bit of a surprise, as I always think of him as being more of a good student, but I guess it makes sense.
I keep hoping guys like Ward will step up and give back a little by investing in the future of the sport. Think if Ward, Floyd and BHop ran programs that competed with one another; Ward handles west coast, Floyd the middle and Hopkins the east coast. Think of the rivalries and what they could produce. These are genius boxing intellects going to waste. Would also give them a grand chess game to play against one another.
That fair enough,Larry Marchent put it down to an old fashioned style that was probably too good as none of his opponents could cope with him tying em up. Very talented but just not very fan friendly unfortunately but Boxing will remember him kindly as one of the greats.
would love to see ward as a trainer some day. I do believe he has the right mindset to be a very good one.
Good stuff from Ward his wisdom in the ring is unparalleled and you could see how natural it is for him to teach. He should pay it forward to the next generation.
