Agree with this. Kovalev seems to be a "stone cold killer" type rather than a "raging maniac" type. If Ward could goad him into spazzing out for the first few rounds and gassing then goading him would be a good idea. But I don't think Sergei is an amateur and that he sees through Ward. Never a good idea to give guys like Kovalev EXTRA motivation.
Emotion can be good for some fighters & disastrous for others. Hatton/FMJ. Hatton got caught up in the emotional side & it added to his defeat.. FMJ was all business. Cool & calm! Golovkin is like this too.. Very patient & methodical fighter! Kovalev with a grudge is probably a good thing. He looked like he was coasting & barely leaving first gear in his last two fights. Looked quite bored to be fair.
Kovalev was rattled by Silakh and Pascal and look what he did to them. Also when Hopkins provoked him in the last round of their fight Kovalev almost ripped his head off. Some fighters fight better when they're emotional and angry.
It's a good thing, Kov is gonna do less thinking and more beating this time, just what a lowlife like Ward needs.
I thought only people with money like Floyd had hand picked judges.. Now everybody can get them like they sell judges at Walmart.. Every fight should have hand picked judges then not just the ones where the favorite or most popular guy loses...
Can't say for sure. Seems stupid but I think that's Ward's intentions. An aggressive puncher plays right into a counter puncher's hands.
