Too much holding for me. He proved that he can hold a one-dimensional fighter for 11 rounds. Round 12, the ref decided that holding was now illegal. Complete joke.

The rules of boxing say that holding is illegal. Why in certain situations it is tolerated ? It's not wrestling, it's boxing.

Very true. It seems to depend on who the boxer's promoter is?

I honestly thought the referee was about to deduct a point for holding, I thought the fight was actually dull, way too much holding on wards part. I honestly was thinking it was time for a point deduction, the referee warned ward on numerous occasions. Ward also was hitting low, when he was not holding he had his elbow or forearm, on mirandas throat. Good win and I wish him success but not impressed at all. Just my opinion.

I'd actually picked Ward to stop Miranda in the 8th,but even so i thought he fought a clever fight and basically outclassed and out thought Miranda.Miranda has always been overated IMO,he may be able to punch a static target (Pavlik) but his limitations as a fighter were exposed last night.Maybe now all those on the Miranda bandwagon will jump ship and start proclaiming someone else as the next SMW king.Had Miranda been in with a Froch/Bute/Kessler last night,he would of been blown away inside the first 6 rounds.Ward did what he had to do last night and showed he was a class above Miranda, however i dont think he's top 5 yet.

looked like a **** fight to me, Ward was like a feather fisted Roy Jones wanabe. He was too concerned with safety, he should have taken some risk and tried to stop Miranda. Fighting like that ain't gone get you far in boxing.

You can throw as many words up there as you like. I saw a Miranda that has regressed. Having read more posts this morning it isn't an uncommon observation. Has nothing to do with bias. It has to do with what I have observed. You want to see this as a sign that Ward will rule SMW for years to come, go right ahead. I don't see it myself.

As much as I would love to see Froch get beaten, Ward ain't gonna be the guy. The ref will make him fight in Nottingham. :deal

    Wrong.

Close fights require much more personal effort. Ward only put out the effort he needed to do to win the rounds against a lousy boxer.

I couldn't agree more. People nowadays are too consumed with KOS. Ward gave Miranda a boxing lesson and is a good fighter.

Clinching is not illegal but stepping into a clinch is. It would have been a different fight if the referee had enforced the rules.

We all knew to begin with that Miranda was destined to get another boxing lesson. Mayweather got no respect for embarrassing Baldomir, and Ward should get no respect for doing the same to Miranda. A real champion finishes the job early.

Horrible comparison, PBF was a seasoned vet and P4P #1. Ward gets respect because he's a up and coming fighter and this was his first real test against a real puncher. He passed by wining by wide UD and fought a smart fight smothering Miranda's power, something you really don't expect a untested fighter to do. Sure he has some flaws but he shouldn't get bashed as much as he is for this being his first true test he won easily.
