Ward would outbox Kov after getting knocked down early in the fight. He'd win a UD like 117-112. Ward doesn't lose, ever.

Come on man this is the best man he would have ever fought whos a weight class above and a big man at that weight too

 

Ward would get murdered. No chance he goes for a fight with him

 

Kovalev would need to go down to 168, the fight would have to happen in CA and Jack Reiss would have to be the referee in order to meet Andre "The A-side" Ward's demands

 

I would love to see kovalev knock ward out

 

And that's what would make Ward winning even better. People do not realise that Ward is probably the best boxer we have seen since prime RJJ. Forget all the bullsh*t with the promoters etc. This man cannot be beaten. He hasn't come close to losing since he hit ****rty. If anyone is to replicate RJJ in becoming HW champ from SMW it's Ward.

Why not? When has he faced anyone as dangerous/accomplished as Kovalev, from a weight class above might I add? Roid Jones jr. was not that great of a boxer, a freak athlete maybe.... But not exactly a great boxer, a great boxer(certainly not of the greatest of all time as you are suggesting) would not be KO'd again time and time again like Roy has, great boxers don't rely purely on athleticism/reflexes to protect themselves like Roy did.. Roy was not a great boxer, simple as that.

Roy was never legitimate HW champion. He beat fraud Ruiz, one of the biggest jokes in recent memory.. Who for one never won his version of the world title outright, and two was an extremely subpar fighter who got by on excessive rule bending, gift decisions and so on.. All made possible thanks to his connections with Don King. Beating Ruiz isn't the crowing achievement that Jones fans make it out to be, so yeah, Ward could presumably jump up in weight and beat someone on par with Ruiz, but lots of great fighters at 168-175 could have done that... As Toney proved as well, Ruiz was a joke.

Would be a very interesting fight. I hope it happens but I would be surprised if Ward has the b*lls to move up and fight him.

 

Article in the Ring mag said Ward will have a couple of fights this year then they would negotiate with Main Events early next year for this fight.
