Predictable yes, but he's one of the very best in the world at carrying out his gameplan. Once you've mastered your craft, it can be as basic as cable if your opponent lacks the intelligence and experience to cope with it. I just don't have the confidence in Ward to think he can put a stopper in Kessler's game when he gave Calzaghe all he could handle. Calzaghe was leagues ahead of Ward. I believe Kessler is at least a few notches ahead as well.

It was troubling seeing him land his best shots on Miranda and getting no response at all.

you are spot on, can't disagree with that

but styles make fights and Calzaghe is a lot more aggresive than Ward which created opportunities for Kessler, and i am also going to say that we really dont know good Ward is yet

Ward is green and has no experience against top 10 opposition, but he does have talent and a gold medal in the Olympics. That hast to count for something.

punching power is the biggest difference in skill between the two, but Ward has the clear advantage in the speed department

Then again, you don't understand true boxing skill. Oh wait, I forgot, you're the one that tells everyone ELSE that. Sorry. And we all know how full of nonsense Ward is, right?

For one, that was a disappointing performance by Ward's standards. For two, he nearly had Miranda out in the 5th round. Miranda then admitted after the fight (as every other Ward opponent has) that Ward was much more difficult than he had anticipated.

I've watched a fair amount of Ward, considering the step up in class, it was a solid performance. He has very nice technique, he just doesn't have natural power.

And he didn't have Miranda even close to going anywhere in that round, he was just catching him with clean shots the way he did all night long. No different than the rest of the fight.

Personally, I think Ward squeaks out a decision and it will be the European turn to scream robbery.

Are we talking about the same 5th round? I have the fight on tape. I was also AT that fight. Not too far back either. At the time, I thought Miranda was out of there. We'll have to agree to disagree.
