What the hell. Even Pavlik would have been a better fight. But Ward deserves an easy fight too, people talk about Froch's resume but often forget about Ward's who's at least not very worse (if we don't take into account the Oakland fighting ****).

im still optimistic that this will come through. there isnt anyone for ward to fight besides k pav. cant fight dirrell because dirrell wont do it right now he is so inactive. n all the young guns are not ready n dont have a resume that ward would approve. ward can never fight any one that that has a bum ass resume, after what he said about bute not deserving a fight with me because off the competition he fought or sumthing along those lines. so now everytime he fights he has to fight somebody whos accomplished sumthing significant in the ring. an kelly hasnt done anything recently but i think kelly pavlik belongs in the same ring as ward.

    Ward still wins tho!!!

    Boo,

If not Andre, a fight I was not necessarily thrilled about, what next for Kelly?

Why not Rodriguez?? I think he beats Edwin, and it would certainly help reintroduce the Ghost to meaningful fights.

If I had my way Pavlik/Rodriguez would be the main event on a BAD show. There is no reason for KP to rush into a fight with Ward, and we should not squawk to much if Ward takes an easy fight. He's kind of earned that right.

I suspect that behind the scenes Goossen is playing his ****ing games, and trying to pressure KP into fighting in Oakland. That's what I object to.

He had an easy fight last time out against a corpse. Anyway, the whole "he deserves an easy fight" talk only flies when a fighter is fighting regularly. Ward has fought once this year, and that was a joke fight.

Think back over the last few years, and take Dawson's claims into consideration. He spents years claiming he could easily make '68 and beat anyone in the division. Ward had no way of knowing Chris Byrd junior would show up.

I'm no Ward apologist. I'm just trying to be objective.

Not bothered about Dawson's claims, i'm bothered by what i saw in the ring. His rythem was off, he had no fluidity to his work, he looked physically drained and had zero snap on his shots. His punch resistance wasn't there at all and he was ****ed after a matter of rounds.

I'm a big Ward fan, but that fight was a joke.

Been some pretty shitty fights(attendance wise) in Vegas lately, outside of Pac, PBF, and the cards on the Mexican holidays in May and Sept. If they figure they may just draw 3-4K, or less, in Vegas vs 6-7K or more in Oakland, what do you think Goosen is gonna want to do?

Nobody's(outside of what I mentioned above) drawing in large crowds unless it is where their fan base is. It's not like this is some kind of mandatory fight. Maybe even HBO might want the fight where there will be the biggest crowds possible, who are fans of the fighters. Less chance of booing before the fight barely starts.

So yeah, it's understandable why there might be pressure to have it in Oakland. Maybe there's no choice.

All this is in playing along with the theory that the venue is the cause of the hold up. That may not even be the issue.

I personally feel that what Pavlik wants to be paid is ultimately the real issue. Yes, he will probably tie that into it with the argument of "I'm not going there for peanuts". Remember, with Bute, "peanuts" was $1million+(iirc), and he turned that down.

I'm sure he's getting no where near that, or even near the $600K that Dawson got. Maybe not even half of that.

Its maybe guy from my country Nikola Sjekloca there was something in our media, Sjekloca is ranked high in WBC but i cant imagine HBO letting this fight happen. Sjekloca will not win a 3 seconds of a fight with Ward while he is ok fighter he is not on world level his best wins are Khoren Gevor and french fighter that fought Degale few weeks ago...
