Dunkin has been saying they ahve been waiting for a big fight for months now. this is what he meant surely
Jermain and Kelly are going to be finished off in their next fights. Kelly literally has no chance at all, he's simply overmatched by a better fighter, who's in his prime. Jermain gets finished with more fireworks by Kid Chocolate, but I'll be pulling for them to represent themselves well and go out giving all they have. Granted Pavlik will probably still fight after his beating, but in terms of top level this is basically his last shot. I wouldn't say I'm "excited" but I'm intrigued.
Oh he definitely wants a big fight, and it "don't get no bigger" than this for Kelly, except "moneywise" (in his eyes). That's just my take. Otherwise, why hasn't he signed?
Ward was the "hype" radio podcast this past Wednesday. He calls in at the 10 minute mark. Great interview. Spoke on the topic.
I always like seeing Ward in action, and i'm happy that he's looking to get back in there within 4 months after his last fight. But as far as the match-up goes, it's not the most interesting one out there to be sure. Ward deserves a softer touch though, IMO. And as soft touches go, a former undisputed MW champ who's still only 30 years old and looked as good in his 2012 campaign as he ever has isn't all that soft. Styles make fights though, and Ward should dominate this. Ward TKO 10
Kelly is already destroyed. It's not going to be nice to see him beat up for twelve rounds. I wouldn't begrudge Ward taking an easy fight after the run of fighters he's taken on but I'd be much more comfortable with him fighting someone like Edwin Rodriguez. Pavlik hasn't beaten anyone of note in years and he's looked shite against journeymen. I like both these guys. I'm not gonna enjoy it.
