Ward said he was very close to coming back to fight Canelo

Yeah I think Ward is a bad match up for Canelo. One of the highest ring iq in this generation.

 

Ward retired too early, imagine the fights we would have potentially gotten & i felt because of him retiring so early we never got to see his true level tested & really find out what he was made of.

 

I would have liked to see Ward continue as well.

Nevertheless, I believe Ward, in winning the Super Six, getting off the deck to make a fight of it against Kovalev, then rematching and defeating the Russian power puncher in conclusive fashion amply demonstrated what he was made of.

He'd have gotten the worse trouncing of his career against Ward.

 

Well, we've seen Canelo get beat several times now, so it's not that far fetched. Canelo would probably look his way only if he was looking for another ass kicking.

 

It would have been a good fight & a better one than AJ/Ward, if he was serious Andre should have straight called Canelo out to see but he didn't.

Regardless of Ring IQ...Ward sons any version of Canelo. Ward was too balanced and a better counter-puncher in addition to being a master of distance
