He also states Froch must have bumped his head. It's over on the other site. I'm sorry but for a guy that hasn't fought a credible opponent in 3 years HE NEEDS THIS FIGHT. A fight in the UK makes the most sense money wise but his damn EGO is just ridiculous. I thought Ward was going to have a career that could match his talent after he beat Froch 3 years ago not wind up in the same place 3 years later. I'm only more certain that after Hearn and Sky Sports wins the bid so they can actually make money on this fight that Ward will vacate.
Fans love fighters that love to fight, Ward hates to fight. And people wonder why GGG gets all the love?
Ward needs to stop ****ing around and take the damn fight. Dude you've been inactive for 2 damn years, **** are you waiting for.
It's just kills me you would thought after Froch the sky would have been the limit for this Gold Medalist but after 3 years all he has accomplished is getting another fight with Froch....atsch He won't fight a Dirrel he says their like brothers and a fight with Abe's German circus is off the table so wtf is he even going to do afterward? I am unbelievably disappointed in Ward is it obvious?
This! It's not like he won't make MILLIONS in a fight he beat an opponent with 1 HAND LAST TIME! He could make bank in the UK!
this fight has been ordered. if ward refuses, he needs to be stripped of his title. same goes for froch.
After UK, Ward could make huge money going on a Europe tour. Audiences in Germany and UK would tune in and pay big money to see Ward beat up Froch, DeGale, Groves, Abraham, Stieglitz, Sturm, etc. Ward could become a household name. Fights against GGG and Kovalev would then be do-able, mega fights even. What on earth is he thinking? Look at Wlad, you can make huge money by being The Champ in Europe even if many of your fights are boring.
Off the top of my head I cannot think of another fighter who became recognized as King of his division and one of the greatest fighters across all divisions who fans so quickly lost respect for as Andre Ward, and he only has himself to blame. After he beat Froch he just kind of stopped. He took the better part of a year off then had a fight against Dawson, then took over year off before having a fight against a no-hoper, and now he's had over a year off again and the first fight news we've heard about him - other than the occaisonal call from him for fighters from other division to move up or down to meet him on his terms - is the WBA ordering him to fight Froch. I said years ago that the Super Six tournament made Ward, that he didn't have the ambition or the drive to seek out fights and build his legacy on his own, and without that tournament the most he would have done on his own initiative would have been to chase Bute or Kessler for their versions of the World Title and defend that forever. I wanted to be proved wrong, but that hasn't happened. Ward has shown just how lazy and unambitious he is by the way he has conducted himself ever since the Super Six ended. Honestly, I can see him dropping the WBA (Super) belt rather than fight Froch as a mandatory - not because he's intimiated by Froch or anything like that, not because he'd worry about losing either, but simply because he doesn't seem to want to fight at all and seems to have no desire or drive to accomplish anything else.
