I knew ward was gonna come out with some diva type response to froch challenge SMH Why not just take the fight in england if not scared? Do it for the sport, the fans, yourself Froch speaks the truth But ward wouldnt even travel to rematch kessler in Copenhagen for big money , so theres no chance he will take on the cobra in nottingham Ward rather fight at home in front of 300 people
Ward has been sitting on his ass for almost 2 years, and hasn't taken a big fight in even longer... He should shut his mouth and go to England and fight Froch. Of course only Ward can have the home field advantage, Ward probably wouldn't even agree to a neutral venue somewhere else in Europe.
This is what His Ward had to say about this in May, 2013. "The reality is that I don't have to fight in the UK to become a star in the world of boxing but Froch has to come and stake his claim in the United States of America in order to be recognized domestically and worldwide.'' atsch Ward is always going on about how many fans he has over in the UK so going by some of his dumb ass fan's logic a fight between him and Froch in the UK would actually be neutral territory for both of them. Ward says that he's a big draw in the US and the UK and that a fight between him and Froch in the UK would be as big an event ''if not bigger'' than Froch vs Groves II was. So what percentage of that bare minimum of 80,000 fans that would be forking out the money for tickets to watch it would be doing so because they're fans of him? 2:42 [YT]De1O9ZYSRKo[/YT]
He really needs go to overseas and get paid. Don't worry about the judges, Andre. Even if they rob you, the fans will know who the real winner is. Get your money!
I'm just hoping Ward is coming from a position of strength in preparation for the negotiations but I doubt it. He clearly has an over inflated sense of self worth and is stubborn to the point he is willing to barely fight just to prove a point. He's been lucky of late with Roc Nation wanting to buy his contract out and the WBA forcing this fight but even with everything going his way he has shown he can sabotage himself like no other boxer I've seen. I'm a fan of his and even I find his antics infuriating and just plain deluded. Fact is if he wants to be paid big money, which he clearly does, a fight in the UK makes most sense. Ward can barely fill out an arena in the US he has no chance of getting 20,000 plus fans like a fight in the UK would. UK PPV would add more than US TV money and I'm not even sure if it would qualify for PPV in the US. Ward always seems to want the impossible. He'll undoubtedly want whatever Hearn offers but for a fight in the US which of course will not add up financially and we will then see it go to purse bids and then Froch drop his title as he won't want to take a pay cut while paying Ward 3 times as much.
I think probably Pretty Boy apart Ward's the best fighter around, but he's ruined his career. Fighting Froch in England is a helluva big fight, money wise it's probably his best option, and he'd likely win. What's his problem?
Andre Ward vs Enzo Mac at Wembley. You could hear the rats chewing on leftover popcorn fromt he football game the night before.:yep:yep:yep
Over the cheers of "Hey, Enzo Mac, Hey Enzo Mac, walking along singing a song walking in Macrenelli land."atschatsch
/end of story. If it goes to purse bids, Hearn would win easily but Froch won't want him to make Ward rich. Why can't Ward say "I'll whoop your ass in front of your own fans, get ready!"...? Negotiate something between 60/40 and 50/50 to make Froch happy not to go to purse bids, then take your money, beat Froch and walk away. Ward's a fukkin idiot, the fight is not happening if he thinks he's Floyd.
Enzo by KO. :deal The rats in Oakland don't chew on leftover popcorn they chew on leftover drug paraphernalia and the corpses of murder victims and homeless men's balls :deal
I told you clowns Froch wanted this fight. He only expressed disinterest when Ward kept being Diva and it was clear he wasn't going to be fighting anybody.
Yes it's hard to even begin negotiating a fight with an opponent who due to legal issues is on hiatus for an unspecified period of time. To have even contemplated a fight with Ward during his legal issues would have been a total exercise in futility and time wasting.
Yeah ok, but at some point Ward will have to face reality. If he's going to turn down every fight where he's a legit B-side (the Froch fight in the UK, the Kessler fight in Denmark offered last summer) and keep asking for pricy tune-ups from HBO, he's never going to fight.
