You're thinking of Neven Pajkic. He dropped Tyson really heavily with an overhand right in the second round -- with Fury up at the count of four -- but he couldn't quite apply the finishing touch: This content is protected Although to be fair, comparing the Fury of this fight and the Cunningham fight with the Fury of the Chisora II, Hammer and Wlad fights is like comparing night and day.
Right. Although you can also take Bruce's question, turn it on it's head and ask, "If journeyman Harold Sconiers can score a legitimate knockdown on Deontay Wilder, why can't Tyson Fury do it?"
Healthy and pre drugs and mental health meltdowns and such Id favor Fury over both. Would only give a puchers chance to both fighters but nowadays we don't know how Fury is going to look.. Well see
Anyone who can't see the superior boxing ability Tyson Fury has, in comparison to AJ, Wilder and Parker, is an idiot. He's lightyears ahead of all those guys. Can they beat him if they land a big bomb? Perhaps. But if he fought all three ten times, he'd beat each of them handily eight or nine times. Fury has a good chin. He's been floored several times by big shots off balance. But each and every time he got up, legs strong and won the fight. He's never done a chicken dance or anything. And his balance/defence issues are no more. He's got the best balance and defence in the heavyweight game. For some reason people forget Fury served his apprenticeship as a professional. He's still a young man.
Fury sparred Lucas Browne yesterday - first time sparring in over a year. Despite that, Browne said Fury was easily the best heavyweight he’s ever sparred. Dave Allen, who’s sparred everyone, also said the same. If he’s fit and in shape I’d fancy him against both Wilder and Joshua.
If it was the fury that schooled wladamir I'd say he knocks out Anthony and out boxes wilder to a points victory. Joshua was getting beat down and almost lost by a lesser wlad than fury dominated. Fury trampled joshua under heel and decisions wilder by a good margin, he'd need to be careful with wilder though, fury has a great chin but deontay could k.o. him if he let's his defence down. But let' face it, which fighter has been retired for 3 years and done this much damage to their body and managed to make a successful come back against top fighters? If he does come back, he'll be alot slower, more rusty, and his chin will be glass from all the years of drug abuse. We've seen it many times before, including with the original tyson.
If Fury is in shape like he was vs Wlad he will beat both Wilder and Joshua. Joshua will be a tough nut for sure, but Wilder would be a walk in a park with an UD like 120-108.
Wilder's advantage is that 1. He throws knockout punches from unexpected unpredictable angles. 2. He hits behind the head and behind the neck. 3, He follows up his hooks with a swift elbow. 4. He's liable to use a judo throw if he becomes frustrated. If you add to all this a ref who will ignore and by ignoring encourages these things, then I don't see Fury lasting the full twelve rounds.
