Hes only slight favourite, we all know ward is a great fighter and very skillful, a brilliant nullifer of power and a man with perfect timing in parries, footwork and counters couple that with a nasty streak which means can fight fire with fire, and give the odd dirty tactic now and again, which discourages the bravest of warriors. He has the speed advantage over kovalev, he could be stronger and his power is actually very snappy and sharp - you cant take those all night and not feel the effects ask the teak tough dawson. :good

Kovalev has the basics down to a tee, but is often of balance, his speed is average and defence is okay. His power is very good, he counters well, and hes a good finisher.

You have to give the man with the more tools the fight. Ward should be atleast 1/3 favourite. The odds are tempting at 4/6 for ward, given his skills and mentality in big fights he should be a nailed on favourite. I may bet big on Andre SOG Ward. I think you guys should too. The house, the kids college fund, The family heirloom, the corvette, the holiday fund, the snooker table. etc etc. :woot:welcome

I agree, he should be a bigger favorite so we can win more money betting on Kovalev. Damn bookies aren't stupid though

I reckon he might be come the first bell when you see an 80 foot ring, Kovalev walking out with 26oz gloves, and Ward's mum as ref.

can hardly call it a 50/50 looking at the skill difference in each man, especially as ward hasnt lost a fight since he was good dam 12years old,
and has faced every style in the book several times. and his chin has been proven as iron, taking on notable punchers such as rodriguez, froch, kessler and barrera.

continuing with my ****ogy. even the chin of ali was rocked by jf left hook. shizit happens in that squared circle. Kovalev is the goods the power is real get clipped its over. but the skills of ward out weigh that power agreed. still say SHs.

skills pay the bills. power for shower.:think or something like that.

i think people overestimate kovalevs power to a certain degree and ward has shown so much ring IQ and fitness, i dont think kovalev will smart enough to capatilize on a hurt ward.

this is atleast a 65/35 fight.

boxers beat punchers its just a fact in boxing.

my comments were based on betting house lock stock and barrel kids and parents included. and murphys law and the cliche shizit happens.

With this in mind bet in moderation. thats all im saying.

:good nice advice, but most of the ESB community are high rollers with more than one jag in their parking lot.
The odds on Ward to win by Decision will be about 7/5 or 6/4 or so, very very good odds. the same guys that made money on Money May to decision Pacquaio should also take this bet. Free money in a fight where the more prime fighter Ward will showcase all of his ring generalship and skill.

khan has no chin and less skills just speed. Canelo came in that night at light heavyweight. so that BS

    misssed the other.

This fight is different all things being equal and not skewed one way or the other boxers beat punchers.
