i think beterPOWER is a good step up for ward, well not really because beterbiev hits arguably harder than kovalev and he presses the action more so he would probably be the much harder fight. if ward is looking for someone with a low record to get him ready for kovalev, i think beterbiev is the perfect candidate even though he would beat ward by TKO.

Ward outclassed Beterbiev's daddy, Makarov, in the olympics.

It's just a data point. Make what you will of it.

Amateurs don't mean much or triangle theories, make what you will of it

Another data point. Beterbiev beat Kovalev twice in the amateurs.

That's a double triangle, make what what you will of it.

Note that pointing out who beat who is not a "theory" it's simply relevant observation. We are not dealing with deductive logic here.

triangle theory is a known term in boxing for the assumptions made that A beat B who in turn beat C, meaning C cant beat A. Doesn't always work like that

also wards style in the amateurs was god awful, more clinching pot shotting and grabbing than he even does in the pros

Beterbiev does ABSOLUTELY nothing from the defensive posture.

A smart fighter like Ward could jab and grab him for 12 unbelievably boring one sided rounds.

    Ward UD 120-108

this is actually where people think ward will have issue with beteribev, the grab bit. Beterbeiv has ridiculous physical strength and manhandles guys in the clinch, if ward tries he's grabing tactics it will suit artur, that is unless ward has a referee who will only allow slow dancing in the clinch and no fighting

Point is, that Beterbiev doesnt counter, EVER.

Sure he'll throw while someone else is countering, but Ward is slippery and Beterbiev doesnt have anything resembling offense flowing from defense.

He resets every single time his opponent throws anything effective.:patsch

he have good footwork can cut off the ring and ward wont be able to clinch as he will get manhandled. ward does win however if he runs like the wind and has a corrupt referee

This is not true. BeterBeast has great movement footwork and instincts. He''s adapting to the pro boxing defense. Breh is not 10 fights deep yet!

You're something else breh. When has Beterbiev really had hands put on him? He's also what 30 rounds deep or something? If you saw Beast last year when he was at UIC you'd know dude is special in more than power.

Wasn't one of the fights Beterbiev had with Kov in the ams a controversial win? Anyways, Beterbiev undeniably has power, but he's alittle raw. He does come forward, overpowers most, but one day he's going to get caught with something when he least expects it. Aside from horrible defense, like someone else pointed out, he doesn't counter. At least GGG does all those things. Beterbiev is a great puncher with a come forward style, but he's pretty one dimensional to me. If he doesn't improve on his defense, counters, or jab, like Kov did, I think Kov will get his sweet revenge in the pros by a breakdown or clear decision win. We'll see, maybe we haven't seen the best of Beterbiev, but so far atm, Kov will crush him and Ward will decision him.

Kovalev has been pro since 2009 with 29 fights

Beterbiev has been pro since 2009 with 9 fights

Kovalev fought career spoiler Darnell Boone in his 10th fight and won a SD. Y'all want Beterbiev to fight Kovalev or Ward in his 10th fight.
