Ward has mismanaged his career as badly as most cubans. It's a shame that we're all aware of. Imagine if he had fought Hopkins instead of Kovalev? He would absorb a huge fan base like Sergey did, but FAR more effectively. If someone is a fan of Hopkins style, they are very likely to be a Ward fan. The Hopkins fight was essential for him to begin crossing over. From that point he could've started aggressively calling out Adonis. This is an EASY fight for Ward. Andre knows how to negate speed and neutralize power. Stevenson is the best possible style matchup for him. From there, acclimated at 175 now, Ward could take on the Krusher. He had a good chance at becoming a big name and being the king at 175 but now he is what he is. Enjoy that second contractually stipulated tune up fight.
:rofl That line got me. Hopkins already stated that he would never fight Ward. A missed opportunity to do good business and gain a few belts and at least have the excuse of having to face mandatories before he would fight Kovalev.
Beating Hopkins wouldn't do anything for Ward. What did it do for Dawson? Ward would get very little credit for beating the senior citizen, the reason why Kovalev has a huge fan base now is due to his style, casual fans far prefer sluggers than technical boxers. HE could have used Hopkins as a stepping stone to cross over to 175 by beating Stevenson than beating Kovalev, but even after that he'd just have the same status he did at 168, and still wouldn't be that popular. The guy schooled Froch easily who is a way bigger name than Kovalev and Stevenson combined.
Does the brit**** disagree? Obviously he has skill too, but are you saying his style doesn't represent a slugger at all? hahahahahah, the fact that you find me calling Kovalev a slugger funny is actually funny in itself. Kovalev is more of a boxer puncher, but my point was clearly that there are 2 sides of the spectrum, a slugger and technical boxer, and in between there are different styles, and Kovalev is far closer to the slugger side than the technical one. Casual fans like yourself far rather see sluggers. The fact that you couldn't figure this out shows how dumb you are .
Nervous? Lmfao no brit****, stop projecting your own feelings. I'll copy and paste what I said ebfore.
"Kovalev has a huge fan base now is due to his style, casual fans far prefer sluggers than technical boxers." Hey **** for brains, my point was casual fans like yourself usually look at 2 styles, the technical style, and the brawling/slugger style, obviously there are styles in between, but CASUALS prefer the slugging style which Kovalev style is closer to. atsch
backtracking? hahahahaha. the brit**** is going full re**** . "Kovalev has a huge fan base now is due to his style, casual fans far prefer sluggers than technical boxers." Is what I orginially wrote, I was clearly referring to casual fans when I made my statement, and how they usually look at two styles, sluggers and technical boxers. Let me educate you, Counter punchers, and defensive fighters would go in the technical boxing section, and boxer-punchers, swarmers etc would go into the slugger section. Hilarious how you think that Kovalev's style has no attributes compared to a pure slugger . Some people dont know **** about boxing.
So it took you that long for you to respond while I edited that? If it didnt take you ages the edit would have been in the reply . I guess you were nervous.
Oh wow, a slugger 12-0'd a senior citizen! What a surprise! And you're still obviously not getting what I'm saying. Kovalev is very technically sound, but he choose to fight in a way that's more similar to a slugger than a technical boxer. Like I said his style is closer to a boxer puncher. You named one fight where he fought a far more techinical fight, good job, . So where are all the other names, or can you only bring that one name up .
Hahaha you're talking about being nervous, yet it took you several minutes to come up with this response. You sound nervous... What's wrong?! You made the comment not me Your definition of a slugger? Because I know mine.. I edited it at least 3-5 minutes before that response.
You clicked on the reply button, and you were deleting and re-writing all nervous and **** thinking what to write for like 5 minutes. What a brit****, you're welcome for the education btw. It's my pleasure educating the casuals and people who dont know **** about the sport on these forums.
