Ward should've moved to 175 and fought Hopkins

:rofl That line got me. Hopkins already stated that he would never fight Ward. A missed opportunity to do good business and gain a few belts and at least have the excuse of having to face mandatories before he would fight Kovalev.

 

Beating Hopkins wouldn't do anything for Ward. What did it do for Dawson? Ward would get very little credit for beating the senior citizen, the reason why Kovalev has a huge fan base now is due to his style, casual fans far prefer sluggers than technical boxers.

HE could have used Hopkins as a stepping stone to cross over to 175 by beating Stevenson than beating Kovalev, but even after that he'd just have the same status he did at 168, and still wouldn't be that popular. The guy schooled Froch easily who is a way bigger name than Kovalev and Stevenson combined.

 

Does the brit**** disagree? Obviously he has skill too, but are you saying his style doesn't represent a slugger at all?

Kovalev is more of a boxer puncher, but my point was clearly that there are 2 sides of the spectrum, a slugger and technical boxer, and in between there are different styles, and Kovalev is far closer to the slugger side than the technical one. Casual fans like yourself far rather see sluggers. The fact that you couldn't figure this out shows how dumb you are .

 

Ward is brothers with GGG, Kovalev and Beterbiev, those fights can be ruled out :deal

Hey **** for brains, my point was casual fans like yourself usually look at 2 styles, the technical style, and the brawling/slugger style, obviously there are styles in between, but CASUALS prefer the slugging style which Kovalev style is closer to. atsch

Is what I orginially wrote, I was clearly referring to casual fans when I made my statement, and how they usually look at two styles, sluggers and technical boxers. Let me educate you, Counter punchers, and defensive fighters would go in the technical boxing section, and boxer-punchers, swarmers etc would go into the slugger section. Hilarious how you think that Kovalev's style has no attributes compared to a pure slugger . Some people dont know **** about boxing.

Kovalev is very technically sound, but he choose to fight in a way that's more similar to a slugger than a technical boxer. Like I said his style is closer to a boxer puncher. You named one fight where he fought a far more techinical fight, good job, . So where are all the other names, or can you only bring that one name up .
