Kovalev has a huge fan base now is due to his style, casual fans far prefer sluggers than technical boxers.

If you had any you would have obviously realized I was saying that casual fans prefer boxers that have a style of a slugger which is closer to Kovalev, than the style of a technical boxer.

Use your common sense, when I refer to casuals they think of two styles, slugger and technical boxers. Kovalev's slugger like attributes is why he's popular, while Ward who is more on the technical side won't be no matter who he beats, unless he starts **** talking like Floyd. If we're going to class Kovalev's style I'd say his style is most similar to a boxer puncher which has several attributes that sluggers have as well.

I clearly stated this, how many times do you want me to repeat my answer? If I was to label Kovalev I would call him a boxer-puncher. He also has attributes of a slugger though, but if we were getting technical no I wouldn't label him as a slugger, I'd label him as a boxer-puncher.
Now to get back to the point of my orginal post. I was clearly stating that CASUALS prefer the slugger style over the technical style, which Kovalev is clearly closer to. And what styles do casuals usually associate boxing to? sluggers and techinical boxers. In no way did I directly say Kovaev is a pure slugger with 0 attributes of a technical boxer, which is what you assumed and got you all upset. I know you have a hard time accepting you were wrong, which is why you kept asking me that question even though you knew my answer, but get over it.

For the record I wasn't only referring to Kovalev, like I said before, the point of that post was to say Ward's style is far less appealing to casuals, while Kovalev's style is more appealing to casuals and people who dont watch the sport. Just like Tyson, while Tyson was also technically sound he was far more similar to a slugger than a technical boxer, which is why he was so popular. The reason a technical boxer like Floyd is so popular is due to his **** talking, so yes the majority of his fans are also casuals, just like Kovalev or other sluggers.
Now compare the fan base of a slugger and a technical boxer when they dont **** talk, which fan base is usually bigger, and full of people who barely watches boxing but just for the knock outS?

Are you saying Pac/Cotto/Canelo/GGG are closer to the technical style? or the slugger style that looks for knock outs. And yes, all of them are OBVIOUSLY very technically sound, but they also all brawl a lot. If we're getting technical none of them are brawlers or technical boxers, but I'd say they're all far closer to a brawler than technical.

 

Ward has been having legal issues for the past 2-3 years, of course his career takes a few steps back when you're "beefing" with your promoter. With Roc Nation, I'm confident he'll be back on track.
