all things considered, would u say bika put in a pretty good effort vs ward? i'm sure i read somewhere that ward said recently, bika was his toughest fight yet.
I heard somewhere Nazim Richardson (?) say that Ward actually can hit pretty hard he just doesn't chose to because he can control fights so much he doesn't need to or along those lines. That first left hook definitely had some spite to it. But Dawson has never been the most sturdy fighter, especially with the weight issue. Definitely but thats just styles. Bika is a tough, ugly fighter whos strong as **** Ward is in a way a much, much more refined version of him. If they were to fight again I'm sure Ward would handle him a lot easier.
Class performance AGAIN by Ward. At this stage he looks like the next P4P king if all continues over the next couple of years. Really I would probably have him at 2 or 3 p4p now with Floyd at 1. Forget the weight Ward is just more of a "fighter" than Dawson who seems to have a very weak mindset for someone so talented. You just know that in a real dog fight Ward would be going at it 200 % but you certainly wouldn't bet on Dawson doing that would you. Personally I have zero interest in seeing Ward rematch Froch at 168 that would be pointless and another easy victory. He could go up to 175 but really there is no one there to fight of any note. I'm really not sure who Ward could fight around his weight next.
Dawson has always been too inactive to be a Top tier fighter... He had so much potential around the time that he beat Adamek but he just clocks off in every fight.
anyone know where I can watch Chad's post fight interview? or where there is a transcript of what he said since they didnt show it on main event?
If Naz did say that I would agree. I reckon Andre's punches are a lot like Floyd's. not necessarily a big heavy handed knock but defiantely has the power to keep opponents honest and stop them if he can land the punches he wants to.. He's so sharp and the technique is spot on so he catches people with punches they dont see. and when he sits on them and commits the power show's through like it did yesterday. its just he doesn't always commit to it like he did last night. The way Andre shot his left hook and dipped out of the way of Chad's incoming right hook was a thing of beauty. very impressive show by Andre!
Impossible to say Calzaghe was a master at adapting his fighting style and overcoming his opponents even when in trouble. He may of been able to figure Ward out. Chad was ahead until he got dropped in the 3rd. Would love to have seen it. Wish Ward had been in the SMW mix at that time.
