Everyone stopped responding to him, yet he's around like a spastic, a bad stench. I feel bad for him, he clearly is not all there.
It's like this: You have money "in": tickets, Showtime, advertising and so on. You have money "out": all sort of fees, IBF, Bell Centre and others. You make the difference between "in" and "out" and you get the total safely available gross amount for both purses. You can make loose estimates of some terms of the "in" and "out" sums, but you cannot get a decent figure of all these terms. Therefore, the computation of the difference is fundamentally flawed. Can we get a better image of this total available amount? Yes, we do have some data concerning both fighters gross purses. By summing them up we can get a total and an improved image on the order of magnitude of the total amount before the split. With Showtime support for airing Magee fight, the gross purses were 1.2M and 0.2M respectively. That makes a $ 1.4M before the split occurrence. What would have been different for a Montreal Bute-Froch fight? 1. no Showtime support -> $ 2M less available input money [thanks for your info]; 2. arguably more interest generated -> some other input should have popup. While the combination of 1 & 2 cannot be precisely estimated, it is safe to assume the other money input should have not been tremendously higher than the very important Showtime contribution. So let's assume that Interbox could have found say $ 2.5M extra input money instead of Showtime's $ 2M (and I'm very generous here). Assuming all other expenses and inputs would have been essentially equal (the most likely assumption), the total amount available for the gross purses would have been in this case 1.4 - 2.0 + 2.5 = $ 1.9M. If Froch's part (from these $ 1.9M) is $ 1M - Bute would have got a part of $ 0.9M. This would have been of course more than 50% in Froch's favor and by no means a lowballing. On this thread I can remember laffie only confirming that "1M$ without a big TV channel is a very big offer." and being rather critical to your financial opinions: "It is impossible for Bute to have more than Froch with those numbers. Read my previous post until you understand it. Interbox would have to take it from their pockets and guess what, they are business men, not charity club members." (I quoted the less nasty statements), so if you agree to take his word as a pertinent opinion on the matter, well... you'll reach conclusions similar with mine. Well, that was obviously NOT the case in the previous encounters (guess why: it has something to do with owning vs. not owning a belt, an argument that Froch himself finds reasonable), but one may argue that Froch has better credentials than all precedent opponents and he should get a better purse. I have no problem with that, the actual split should have been established by negotiation, but I cannot say that a 50+% for the challenger should be compulsory for fairness: this is just an invented number. Anyway,... atsch You ain't proven anything. You simply listed some alleged inputs, forgot about all outputs and claimed high reliability for your hypothetical split. On the other hand, I gave above some obvious high estimates which point towards a totally different conclusion, in perfect agreement with laffie: Bute would have get less money than an $ 1M paid Froch. You should then refer your criticism to Mr. Collins.
Wait, what? Which side of the discussion am I on now? Either way, you are a disgusting pork body, and Froch will punch Bute's face back out thru his arsehole, while Bute will pound Froch's glass liver into a fine red mist that will saturate the first 3 rows ringside. All in the 1st round of course. This is inevitable. This is irrefutable. This is ESB.
Be careful...the chin checkers might start harrassing you, to recruit you, if you keep posting too many of those... Cheers :cheers
I'll sure do! You did associate me with FlashyKO as soon as yesterday, even if I don't post very much these days. I'm hurt! :verysad
F. KO is prolly still in high school, hence why he thinks all his posts are funny. Back on the actual topic. EddieHearn Eddie Hearn For all those asking about @Carl_Froch next fight..you can read more in @BoxingNewsED tomorrow..but it WILL be in the UK whoever the opponent BoxingNewsED Tris Dixon Looks like big news could be on the way about @Carl_Froch in this week's magazine. @EddieHearn @matchroomboxing http://pic.twitter.com/Bp3HI1zJ This content is protected After all Bute said about wanting to fight Froch, if I were Bute, I would be extremely offended if "No easy way out" implied that Bute has been running from Froch all along. Extremely. We'll see.
