Ward: The Krusher Is Gone; Canelo Is Fighting Kovalev (!)

Funny thing is this knockdown by bodyshot occurred around 2011, when Golovkin was 28-29 in his prime and Kovalev was apparently out of shape. This is the same Golovkin that beat Canelo's ass in sparring. These 3 even have a picture together. Canelo's time in camp with a prime Golovkin is why he delayed the fight for so long, and he also must have witnessed the sparring between Kovalev and Golovkin.

What Canola doesn't realize is that he fought a very significantly faded Golovkin compared to the Golovkin of 2011. The Golovkin that fought Canelo isn't the same Golovkin that knocked down Kovalev.

 

When Ward talks about Kovalev he has an interest as far as his legacy. If he said Kovalev was still good and Canelo stops him, he did something that Ward did and it matches his legacy in many ways. Although I think Canelo has already passed up Ward.

 

Ward is an odd duck. I don’t think there’s a sincere word that comes out of his mouth as it pertains to Kovalev, who he’s been dogging like a bum ever since their second fight. He’s talking with his fragile ego. Not his boxing brain...probably angling for a Canelo fight too.

Anyway. I don’t think Kovalev and Buddy took this fight on short notice to get into a phone booth fight. I think we’re gonna see a second consecutive jab KO from Kovalev here, and witness the passing of Canelo’s punch resistance as his chin gets irreversibly cracked

 

Yes, they are. I remember Kovalev himself talk about it. But he claimed that he was sick/tired already/after a period of inactivity (I don't remember what exactly) and that's why Golovkin had some success.

 

Fully expect canelo to stop him 7-12

Canelo probably didn't take in account that Golovkin's "cheat day" during training is to eat a scoop of ice cream and Kovalev's is to drink a garbage can full of vodka.

2... In a fair fight situation Kovalev won fight 1. Was leading on the cards in fight 2 despite Ward's impersonation of Golota.
