''As far as fighting him (Bute).. I would love that. I would truly love that. I think that, god willing, I'm able to come out of this thing on top and win the the Super Six, I think that's the only fight that makes sense. I think that fight has to be made. And it would put rest to a lot of confusion about who's number 1 in this division. And from there I would like to move up and become a multi-divisional champion after because there really wouldn't be much to accomplish after the Super Six and a Lucian Bute fight." just wow
Ward doesn't instruct Bute do do anything. Bootay is his own man. He said - go off and do your own thing , build up the fight while im out injured. Bute and his team knew he was on borrowed time with that chin. Thats why they tired to milk two big pay days against Froch. Blame Bute for knocking himself out of contention , not Ward. Ward had just went into a Froch fight with a dodgy hand and fought Kessler as a young novice and as a big underdog. He had no reason to fear no Bute. He wanted to build the fight to maximize the profits. This happens all the time.
I can see why you understand Ward's view on things, you have a similarly poor grasp on the situation as Ward did. You think Bute knew he was on borrowed time so instead of protecting that chin and instead of taking on an easy opponent set himself up against one of the hardest punchers in the division instead of waiting of Ward who is a moderate puncher therefore risking a fight with Ward. Why was it just Bute's role to build the fight, a fight is built from both sides. Was Ward going missing for 9 months a great way to build a fight. Nobody builds a fight by not fighting. Only Ward and you seem to think this is a valid method of building a fight. Also Bute fighting Froch was his attempt to build the fight. You think Bute should have done what Ward did and not fight for 9 months to build a fight. Only you would think this is a valid strategy. You keep digging yourself into an even more ridiculous hole with every post you make.
Good to see Ward finally getting a fight in his rightful division. Lets see for how long he ducks Kovalev
If he has any sense he'll make the fight as part of this fight deal. HBO clearly specifically made this deal with Ward to steer him towards Kovalev. If he doesn't make the fight as a part of this deal or soon afterwards and he keeps underselling I'd expect HBO to drop him. Ward is getting a life line with this deal he now needs to take this chance and run with it.
In a nutshell, Ward got sour when Froch's career soared from beating the fighter he blew off. "He needed to be built up". So, in a fashion that would make Winky Wright's School of Boxing Business award him an honorary doctorate, he declines fighting the man who DID deliver a sublime performance by turning down a Froch rematch by acting as though Froch's increased popularity meant nothing. Somehow beating Paul Smith was the more valuable win. You can't make this stuff up.
Ward ducked Bute blatantly. He was afraid of Bute's left bomb. Ward is a well known ducker, calling others duckers is hilarious coming from him
Ward on challenging the Klits atsch I want to [challenge for a world heavyweight title], Ive talked about that since Ive been a kid, Ward said, apparently straight-faced. It seems crazy right now, This content is protected
Ducking Bute He fought bigger and better boxer punchers in Froch and Kessler even drained Dawson was more dangerous than Bute GTFO ducking Bute :rofl
Facts are facts, Ward is a ducker and nothing you can say changes that. And bringing mummy Dawson to help your cause doesn't do any favors to Ward...it's even worse, he ducked Bute to drain some punk who couldn't stay 30 seconds in ring with superpimp at his own weight
Has any news broke on this deal aside from Dan's report? I still wonder whether Ward is really going to move to light heavyweight when the possibility of a Golovkin fight can still become a reality depending on how things break for the remainder of the year.
