Ward to Vacate WBC Belt - Froch v Anthony Dirrell for the Vacant Belt?

Cause it's worth nothing. What the **** has Dirrell done to deserve a shot?

A ward - other dirrell fight is very pointless IMO. But while he isnt fighting Bute just yet, who else is another option for Ward? He has soundly beaten Froch and Kessler already. Andre Dirrell wouldnt be too bad and a fight I want to see. But the other dirrell is probably a better option than Magee TBH

Anthony Dirrell is certainly an easier fight for Froch. Also it gives him more bargining power with Bute

 

Anthony is wards mandatory but Andre doesn't want the fight, he has more to lose and Anthony looks like a top fighter who is yet to make his Mark on the world stage. If ward vacates then Anthony can really fight anyone in the top 5 for the title, and he wants froch as he thinks that he can put on a great performance against him.

Why vacate? I can only hope these rumours are false. You wait 2 odd years for the super six to come to end, find a semi-unified champion, one step away from resolving who is the best supermiddleweight in the world (he's still gotta fight Bute for that accolade to be concrete) and then he gives up the belt?

OK, it doesn't prevent him from fighting Bute but by the sounds of things he's not interested in that one yet either.

This would've been a real problem for Bute-Froch negotiations that take place now and seemed to be close to a deal. I'm happy they are denied by Ward.
