Simple questions, did Dawson say he can make 168 w/o any problems?

170-168 = 2 pounds. And, this fight is for Ward's belts in Ward's weight division.

If they want to do a non-title fight, I'm cool with catchweights. But to call out a champion, then not fight at the champion's weight limit, is a ***** move, IMO.

I take it you were born that way it cant be helped. Dawson made the call, Dawson claimed 168, Dawson said Oakland but now everything is wards fought. You people have got to be kidding me, what is it you don't like sucessful black fighters. The complaint was ward stayed at home during the super six, get over it the winner got home field advantage. If he had lost he would have had to fight somewhere else, but he didn't. Dawson is not what people say he is, best technical fighter almost, but lack of mental fortitude hurts his chances. He has picked on older fighters that he can out work and would not put too much pressure on him until Pascal. Now he wants to move down in weight to give himself a size advantage, but want to change the terms to suit his need, too bad for Bad Chad. Live with the terms you set, next time he will learn to think before he opens his big mouth.

You are mistaken, Ward didnt get home advantage because he was a winner, he got home advantage because he said that he wouldnt fight anywhere else. All of the other fighters accepted that they would need to travel except him, it was only the power of his promotional team and the confidence of the other champions.

Kessler has said since that he has never been treated that unprofessionally and the antics leading up to the fight were a complete joke,

It is pathetic, no question. The fight should be at 171-2. The fact that he insisted on Oakland only, will affect the outcome of this more than the weight drain, though.

Dawson is in a win win situation. His belt at 175 is not even on the line. Say he loses, so what he went down in weight to do it, people can use this as an excuse, plus he still is the champ at 175 and can just defend his title. Ward has everything to lose. If he loses he loses his "0", no longer a champion, have to become a contender again, and will not have leverage anymore in talks for possible future fights.

They're fighitng for Ward's belt you mensa member...:patsch.
Besides, “I would love to fight Andre Ward,” Dawson (31-1, 17 KOs) told HBO’s Max Kellerman. “Bad Chad” then shared he could "get down to 168" or make it at 175 pounds if necessary.
He agreed to fight for Ward's belt. Agreed to go down to 168 to make it happen, and beat the #1 SprMW in the World.

Read the interview. Dawson wanted the fight at 170, Ward said no. The issue is the final two pounds.

If Dawson wants Ward's titles, he should make Ward's weight. If the situation was reversed and Ward wanted Dawson's titles at 172, I would side with Dawson, go to 175.

My standard is the same, regardless of the fighters involved.

But thats a full 7 pounds he has to move down from I mean yes if he wants the titles from Ward but still we dont like catch weights right? so people supporting this which is not a catch weight this is a cat risking his health to move down 7 pounds people who support this match have no buisiness talking **** about catch weights or draining fighters

Agreed on this last part. I just think Dawson is a grown man who made the decision to cut the weight and go after a title. If it blows up in his face, so be it.

Ward has many options at 168, I don't fault him for fighting there.
