So his options are mandos? WBA has none as the Balszay situation is unresolved and he also happens to be injured. Same with Anthony Dirrell for the WBC that does not have a mando AFAIK. So there was no options at 168?
Kessler II, Froch II, Bute. All make a decent payday, all are winnable fights, none require additional weight clauses. Dawson pretty much had nobody.
whats pathetic is the number of ***s on here crying about a guy who is the champion at 168 and was challenged by a guy a division above for a shot at him and his titles..... ward agrees to fight the bigger guy and the toughest guy out there and he takes nothing but ****....where as mayweather throws up every hurdle to not make the biggest fight in boxing against a smaller guy for 3 years now, but yet is branded some kind of justified savy business man :rofl ****ing double standard dickheads
Ward whipped Froch's ass in Atlantic City, he can do it anywhere (and I like Froch). You are just one of the guys who will never give Ward credit for anything.
Ward's career high payday was 900k against Froch. The Bute fight might make more, but probably not since Bute lost. The license fee he's getting for the Dawson fight will be significantly more.....like maybe 4-5M..possibly even more. This is a fight Ward had to take. He's not making this much anywhere else.
See? I ****ing told you guys didn't I? http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=422700 Dawson's belt is not on the line. He said he would come down to 168. Why start backtracking after the fact and ask for 170?
kessler aint stupid...he dont want that ass kicking again...he got beat up ...viking warrior then cried "foul" because he was roughed up by that golden boy
No one should be terribly surprised. Ward admitted to wanting to bring down Dawson instead :-( Pac would be proud :good
None of those are really good fights though. He's already dominated Kessler and Froch, and Bute's rep has been ripped to shreds by Froch.
