I agree, only that, there should be a balance with offense and defense. If defense is too strong then it'll be as boring as the World Cup usually is. Those riveting 1-0 games, teams playing keep away for 90 minutes.
The most impressive defence will always be one whilst coming forward and pressing the action. Rigo is a farce. Ward though, is LEGIT.
There is a big difference between having an excellent defense and being a defensive minded fighter whose style revolves around minimizing as much risk as possible. - Lomachenko and Usyk are not afraid of taking risks, standing in the pocket, letting their hands go. - Rigo's whole style revolves around avoiding risk. When he's not engaging, which isn't very frequent, he's retreating and is content to land 5 punches in a round if his opponent isn't bull rushing him and that's all he has to do to win the round. - Ward is more offensive than Rigo, stands his ground more, and is more offensive but also does many unecessary things to minimize risk and make it ugly to watch. Mainly smothering and clinching but the most frustrating thing is that he doesn't have to do it.
No no no. Usyk and Loma have a matching offense that breaks opponents down. Ward has feather dusters and is a runner. Not the same class.
You've never watched Ward fight ever, I'm assuming? I can see the dumbass no power statement, but is a runner? On no planet does that make sense.
