Alright, now that Dre's finally looking to get the ball rolling again, lets say he wants to really try and go down as a Great and takes the hardest fights out there. And there's none harder than moving up and facing the Krusher at 175

Pretty sure before Kovalev schooled Hopkins this poll was 50/50 here on Eastside. Reckon that might have changed somewhat :think

(We'll give him a tune up and he shows no signs of ring rust whatsoever)

I'm a still go with Ward. Unless he gets KO'd Kovalev is not out boxing Ward.

Kovalev sends him to sleep. Kovalev, would beat him up. Body shots, punches trough the guard, stronger man. Wars hasn't got the chin of hopkins.

Didn't we just hear that same thing? Granted Hopkins was the age he was, but we saw just how good of a boxer Kov can be. I wouldn't rule it out that he couldn't outbox Ward. It would be interesting to see how Ward reacts to those kind of shots though.

    KOValev lights this guy up.

(Pre-Hopkins this poll would have given Ward a much better chance)

Kovalev is tailor made for Ward imo. I think it would look a lot like the Kessler fight, Ward picks him off with jabs and counters on the backfoot and smothers him inside when Kovalev cuts him off and finds his range

Kovalev was also supposedly tailor made for Hopkins. Some of you guys never learn.

Kovalev wins this. There is not really a scenario where Ward wins this.
Don't forget Kov is currently the A side so don't count on a ref that loves hugging. Ward goes to sleep.

Kovalev the one guy I would confidently pick against Ward.

He's got everything that troubles Ward. Power, angles, footwork and distance control.

People comparing Kovalev to Kessler is silly. Kessler doesn't have good footwork. Kovalev moves around the ring easily and if Ward dares to rush in, he'd get countered like Hopkins did in the first round.

Kovalev by KO in the mid to late rounds.

Hopkins is a 50 yr old man that lost to Chad Dawson in his last meaningful fight before Kovalev. Comparing him with Ward is just ridiculous.

Who very efficiently beat Shumenov Cloud and Murat who were young game fighters, Hopkins age shouldn't be considered a factor, don't pull that card, Also the BHop Dawson fight was very close and the Dawson that fought Ward was weight drained, look what Adonis did to Dawson do you think the result would be any different had he fought Sergey.
Kovalev was able to out box BHop because his power scared the hell out of him and made him terrified to exchanged, Ward will be no different if they meet.

And comparing Kovalev to Kessler is just ridiculous also. Suddenly Hopkins became old after the fight when leading up to it so many people were saying a 50 year old was going to school Kovalev. Can't have it both ways.
