I actually believe Ward would do much better vs Beterbiev than against Kovalev

Like I said I think Ward wins easily.

I like Beterbiev, but he's a come forward Provo type fighter with no great boxing skills as opposed to Ward who is as skilled as Floyd. You need more than power to beat Ward, who has experience fighting elite fighters, is hard to hit and disrupts a lot of the opposing fighter's action. Not to mention Beterbiev is a slow fighter that I think Ward will easily be able to avoid most of his punches and make him look silly.

This would be a better tune-up fight than Periban. LOL. I think Betebiev would KTFO Ward.

:rofl boxing is more than power son. Boxers beat punchers 85% of the time if all is equal or close in skill set. It's called BOXING for a reason... not POWERING...:

HEY, tell Floyd, Sweet Pea, Oscar, Ali, Ray, Camacho, Chris Byrd, Ward, Corey Spinks, Hopkins, Bradley, Paulie and Rigo that you have to be a strong power puncher to be a champ, elite and great....

I just killed your bs post...

Your post is flawed. At their optimum weights, Floyd, Oscar, Ray, Comacho, Byrd and Hopkins were all punchers. For example, Hopkins was KO'ing people in the middles and wasn't called the "Body Snatcher" for no reason, he was an exciting aggressive boxer. Similar with Floyd, he too was more aggressive and exciting at the lower weights. Moving weight is a different prospect when you don't operate at your optimum weight class.

Because there are numerous fights that could still be made in his weight class. Degale, Groves, Dirrell or Dirrell, Froch, Chavez Jr, Ramirez. It's not lacking of matchups for him.

He's been inactive for so long, even though he cleaned out the division originally, it's been replenished. :-(

I can't believe I have to explain this... do you know the difference between a puncher vs a boxer? A power puncher type say Joe Boxer has 20 kos in 25 fights with most of the wins coming within 5 rds, with taking big punches in the process. Now boxer type has 20. Kos in 25 fights but he wins on the accumulation of punches over 8 - 10 rounds gets a tko without barely getting him in the process.

It's how one goes out to execute the victory... it's the style and longevity of the different styles.

    Please don't do this again...

Beterbiev, kovalev, pimp are not some one dimensional punchers, maidana, provodnikov are.

I'm not debating the grey area of a puncher's skill set... compared to a pure boxer vs a puncher. Ward out boxes Beterbiev easily as well as beats Kovalev.

I'm not saying they can't win... it's boxing a single punch can win any fight. But the odds are with the boxer vs the puncher.
