Apologies to Froch, who unfortunately I don't think will make it past the technique & athleticism of Ward. :D

Not saying it would be the same scope (partial vs linear unification), or that it would be as promising excitement wise as Tito-Vargas, but if Ward wins the S6 + Bute defeats Kessler in a unification bout, Showtime could arrange for undefeated 2-title holders Ward & Bute to meet in the Fall/Winter of 2012-13.

You'll notice I'm making a bit of a strange parallel -I say strange because I feel Ward would have to be the aggressor in this fight- between Vargas/Ward and Tito/Bute. Styles are not comparable, at all, but the rest of the conditions are funny to look at.

    Vargas-Tito: 4 year difference
    Ward-Bute: 5 year difference

    Vargas-Tito: ~1 in height difference
    Ward-Bute: ~1 in height difference

    Vargas-Tito: ~2 in reach difference
    Ward-Bute: ~1 in reach difference

    Vargas-Tito: a prime 20-0 vs prime 38-0
    Ward-Bute: a prime ~26-0 vs prime ~31-0

    Vargas-Tito: orthodox vs orthodox
    Ward-Bute: orth/spaw vs southpaw

    Vargas-Tito: how many low blows?
Ward-Bute: could see headbutts coming in from Ward...

Vargas-Tito: very close going into the 10th
Ward-Bute: unless one of the two screws up big, same deal here

Vargas-Tito: had beaten Winky & Quartey vs had beaten ODLH & old Pernell
Ward-Bute: had beaten Kessler & Froch vs had beaten Kessler & old Johnson

    Vargas-Tito: home vs away
Ward-Bute: if in Vegas or MSG, neutral // if anywhere in Cali, home vs away

    ...

LOL do I have to have a point in a funky comparison thread? Are threads that say "this is fukkin great" offensive to you as a poster?

This fight is big enough for SHO to force Bute-Kessler upon both teams. The conditions can be met for something huge, Tito-Vargas was pretty big at the time.

Again, Bute-Kessler is happening and it's because of Hershman & co. I'm 100% convinced.

Bute is almost as big a puncher as Tito was back then, but the aggressor roles are reversed as I think Bute would fight Ward on the back foot.

    TKO12 :D
