I completely agree on the nuetral venue. As a California resident, Vegas would allow me to possibly see the fight, but I'm fine with NY (even though it will be a pro-Bute crowd).

Keep in mind that NY has significant income taxes while Las Vegas does not. The fight will need to generate a lot more revenue for the fighters to get paid the same amount after the government takes their huge cut.

 

Both are stay at home fighters... Well, Bute less so after the Froch fight.

So definitely NOT Califirnia, and Vegas is also far too close to Ward's home.

Of course some Canadias might go to NY, just like some Canadians might go to UK fo the Froch fight. But remember that Bue is Romanian, not Canadian.

Must admit I didnt know about the taxe stuff, might be a way to make it in Vegas, I just dont think that Ward can bring his base fans in Vegas the way Bute can do in NY, but who knows?

 

Talking about myself only, I dont have the kind of money to go by plane across the pond and pay stuff in £. But I can go by car in NY with the US$ about the same than the CAN$. I have no doubt a fight in NY is cheaper than a fight in UK, so by this guess, there will be more Bute's fans in attendance in NY than in UK or Vegas. Might very well be wrong though.

Perhaps, but then people will say Ward ducked a prime Bute to fight a shot Bute. It won't look good in my opinion.
